Yes, Liara is the only female character who retains her dignity. Which makes her the best female character/LI. I think we can all agree on that and call it a day.

Seriously though, it's not just Miranda's outfit that's wrong about her. Her entire body is the worst Hollywood caricature of what a female person should look like. Her hair is creepy due to its near-realism. The only good things about her are her facial structure and voice acting, which really are just good things about Yvonne.

On Liara being the best LI is just your opinion (even though she is one of the best in my opinion). I definitely cannot agree on that and call it a day.

I was joking about the best female character/LI - those are my subjective opinions.

However I can objective say that if I meet Miranda/Jack IRL, I would have dismissed them as crazy/desperate ****s. If I meet Tali IRL I would have thought she had some weird religious/health condition that I'd better not mess with. If I meet Samara I'd wonder if she's a fashion model who walked off the stage with her work dress on.

Only Liara gives me the impression that she's a normal woman whom I'd like to talk to and get to know. That's all. Not a judgment on personality or anything. Just looks. First impressions. Yeah and Ashley looks pretty normal too in her civs - I would not mind talking to her either.

Just one major reason why ME1's LI's are way better than ME2's IMO.

Yeah real normal. So normal that she goes to hell and back for someone she barely even knows in some cases. Someone that she hands over to a terrorist organization because she doesn't know the meaning of "let go." She has low social skills because she's used to being alone and has never had a relationship of an intimate nature.

Normal my ass. She's also blue with a tentacle head or did that miss your attention?

The most normal female LI is Ashley.

Sorry I just dislike the whole "My LI is more normal than yours." thing. Most of the ME LIs aren't normal and the ones that are (Kaidan, Ashley, Jacob) get constantly slammed for it.

I wasn't attacking you for having your own opinion. I was just failing at a bad joke. I'm sorry. :innocent:

Here's what I think: What Miranda wears is impractical. She's wearing HEELS in FIREFIGHTS. That makes no sense. But, you have to remember that ME2 was basically just fan service. And to be honest, Samara was worst. But Miranda's clothes are too tight and seems to be more or less made for eye candy. It would be better if Miranda put something else on. Every time she walks or gets an "interesting" camera angle I feel like I'm watching porn. Not that I'm complaining though.... ;)

Yea man this is why were friends!

Buddy, Sexism would be telling Miranda to go to the kitchen and make me a sandwich, while slapping her on the rear.

Outfits? Nothing to do with sexism. And even if it did, you DO realize there are other designs out there which are MUCH worse?

Tifa Lockheart - Final Fantasy 7 (1998)
Image IPB

Ivy - Soul Calibur (2005 design)
Image IPB

Shania - Shadow Hearts 3 (2005)
Image IPB

And for Shania, I just want to emphasize that they make her strip. IN BATTLE.

There is so much worse cases of bad outfits when it comes to female character designs. Miranda may have a wedgie, but thats just about all thats bad about it in terms of objectivity.

Plus, as many have mentioned, Jack and Samara's outfits are much worse then Miranda's. Why would you complain about the LEAST objective of the three?

Seriously. If you're claiming sexism, at least do it right.

Go to any night club on a saturday night and proceed to tell 1/2 of the women there that they "sexist" for dressing the way they do. Anyway, the original poster is a Salarian, what do you expect from one of them?

Well...in objectivity, sure. But Bayonetta's outfit wasn't too bad. No cleavage or anything like that.

Image IPB

I'd say it's on par with Miranda.

Accept for the part where she gets completely naked every time you do a combo.

Ok enough with the sexism thing already!
Is everyone so self obsesed that they have to chime in with their take
on sexism instead of making an argument that is valid to the forums subject?
Come on already!
Oops i just gave everyone more fuel to attack me instead of writng something worth while.....
........Or you could break the mold & go back to what the forum is about....

...You're joking right? "Not valid to the forums subject"? The whole subject was whether or not Miranda is Sexist. My post was relevant is telling why she ISN'T.

And besides, you're the one who brought up this subject. Why are you telling everyone not to talk about sexism when it's the whole point of this thread?

But you brought up the sexism and made a claim (the 2007 thing) that people were refuting. They're not off topic.

As for your complaint against Miranda, I figure how she dresses is just a part of who she is. She's so fixated on being engineered to perfection, she uses all her "assests" to reach her goals. She knows she has a "perfect" body, so she dresses accordingly. She's calculating. We know this. There's nothing wrong with that. As others have mentioned, there are other crew members who are more objectionable than her.

Miranda is a cocky **** that knows she is super sexy. Why wouldn't she dress the way she does?

I would be more worried about the fact that Bioware created this character, personally. And even then I don't really care since it's THEIR story.

Again thanks for proving my point....I love you all !!!! & This is all for fun anyway...

But your WRONG!!!!!

Yes sexism is in the title & description,Although the forum does not revolve around the "definition" of

the word!!!! I think we can get passed that & continue conversation on how the guys at Bioware were being sexist by designing such a skimpy stereotypycal & well endowed women!!!

I agree that Miranda's outfit was over the top and not practical at all to fight in. Plus the whole lack of appropriate gear when in a vacuum was rather annoying. However, do I find it sexist? Not in the least. Miranda is a strong woman who's going to use her assets to her advantage, whether it's flinging someone across the room with her biotics or distracting male counterparts with tight fitting clothing. She's intelligent, thoughtful, ambitious, independent, and armed. I like her character, despite her poor fashion sense. I don't feel that she was treated any different than the male characters.

I don't think they're being sexist. Kaidan, Thane, and Jacob are all in snug outfits too. Their uniforms are very formfitting and Thane's chest is partly exposed. They have nicely built bodies. Why aren't you outraged at this?

No, it revolves on whether or not we find Miranda to be sexist. You even asked for out opinions.

If a topic is about something being sexist, then it's only logical that people discuss the topic is sexism. Without any knowledge of what makes anything sexist, we can't say anything is sexist at all.

We've all given our opinions on the subject. All of which are completely valid, and you've done nothing but try to ignore the key factor here. The Sexism.

How does this make the designers "sexist"?
Just because one character is what could stereotypically be called sexy doesn’t mean bioware is sexist or trying to send the message that this is what woman should be like or that this is the ideal/ only form of beauty.
What’s wrong with having a character who is strong and sexy and knows that she is? What’s wrong with having some of the character well endowed? Some woman are in real life too you know. Or is there are new rule that all video game characters must have small breasts?
Not like all the ME girls are like Miranda. Ash isn't stereotypically beautiful, neither is jack and you can’t even see Tali’s face. If anything all this ****ing about Miranda is what's sexist.

I'd say it's on par with Miranda.

Which is sad because Bayonetta is meant to be silly and meant to be fanservicey.
I'm not going to play Bayonetta and go "wtf this armour is ridiculous it completely destroys the believability of the setting!"
But when they put said 'silly' and 'fanservicey' armour in the sequal of a game that spent a great deal of time establishing the setting's lore and trying to make it believable.
Then I'll be annoyed.

Um do you not understand that Bioware created her, dressed her & put her in the game.....
Along with all of the other female characters.
She didnt create herself.
Shes not real.

This is realy sortof a conversation about what is to come in Mass Effect 3
Like full frontal nudity & complete neglate of the integraty & shame just in time for the finalie...

Final Fantasy X-2 is pretty much the perfect example of that. They turned a serious character like Yuna into an "Oh hey, I'm a Spunky Pop-star! Lets go collect outfits and reunite this guy with his lost love! YAYZ!!" kind of girl, ala Charlies Angels.
