Thanks for creating this thread! It's hard to name specific good memories from ME1, there are just so many :) One of the things i loved in ME2 is how slowly but surely as the story progressed Mordin changed my perspective on the genophage and thus changing the way how i as a player perceived him.

In ME1 - Fighting your way up the citadel tower while Sovereign looms hugely in front of you.

In ME2 - Flying towards the Derelict Reaper it's just a great "Oh yeah" moment.

Hahaha, that was such an epic moment in the game :)

One of my personal favorites was in ME2 at Grunt loyalty.
At Krogan shaman and Warlord, warlord talks BS and then renegade option of hitting him in the head.
Shaman response: HAH! I LIKE THIS HUMAN! HE UNDERSTANDS!

That line made my day.

And entire LotSB was just epic. Car chase, joke lines you already mentioned previously, the music inside it. If they make ME 3 like LotSB it will be best ending of the awesome trilogy.

ME1, loading up the galaxy map for the first time. The music, visuals, and the sheer "holy crap this is huge, I've got a whole galaxy to explore!" feeling.

ME2, the end of Garrus' loyalty mission. Man, I must have been stuck there for about 15 minutes trying to figure out what the right thing to do was. Awesome decision.

1. "Shepherd, my friend!"

2. Joker arrives and that music that plays when the Normany 2 is revealed

3. The vertical ascent of the Citadel / final boss dialogue

4. Any number of jerk renegade dialogue options

5. Normandy vs Sovereign scene

You know what else I thought was really special? The time where you and...well, I believe it was with Ashley and Kaidan, you can view the Citadel from the wards, and basically marvel at how large the Citadel was, including the vast amounts of races, and how the Citadel was also a home for many.

That scene had definately laid down how important the Mass Effect Universe was for me-it was a special scene for a special game. I mean, playing the game for the first time alone, experiencing the dialogue and interactions...it was just....wow.

ME

1. Ilos. Talking to VI and hearing whole story about Protheans and about their fate. Very touching and emotional. And then I couldnt drive mako properly and nearly missed conduit. All those nerves I had. Had to say all night awake, because I just could stop playing. Second day in row.

2.And totally Normandy and Sovereign battle. Go flyboy!

ME2

1. Prologue - when I was walking to save Joker and looked above me and saw that enormous hole in Normandy, and nothing just deep quiet space, Alchera blue orbit in your sight. It was very powerful moment.

2.Joker returns.I pretty much love everything about that scene.

3.Tuchanka. Seeing Wrex was suprise for me, I honestly did not expected him there. But nothing can compare to Thresher maw. I hated those things in ME, so when I finally killed him it was....

4.Collectors base Joker airlock scene. Just wow. O_O

ME1: When I realized not everyone was going to make it off of Virmire.

Alien side-boob

ME2: The opening sequence

On Horizon, the way the collector ship causes nasty weather to encircle it. Awesome effects.

Freeing Jack is a highlight. I really enjoy that mission for some reason.

Tali's recruitment was another cool mission.

First time I rode in the firewalker. I think it's awesome.

Lair of the Shadow Broker. Fighting on the ship in the storm is just sick.

The same for the battle with another Spectre.

^ I actually took some time on the Shadow Brokers ship just to observe and marvel at the scenery that was taking place...was some of the most visually enticing...er....visuals that I have ever seen! The whole scene was actually alive, with the wind, electricity, even the ship felt like it was delicately hovering in place, struggling to remain intact.

About the LotSB cam feeds...

What I found even more hilarious than the Krogan punching the reporter was Udina pushing that dude, for some reason.

I liked the murderous Keeper!

There was that one keeper, that the camera always caught it walking away from a body.
That was completely epic.

Haha yes! Was totally epic!
I have a question though...for the feed with Grunt on Omega....when/how is this possible...it's just something I've thought about...is it like when you land on Omega with your crew...or....?

Uhg theres too many to list. I'll give it a shot.

10. Consoling Tali after her father died.
9. Talking to Vigil and Soveriegn in ME1.
8. The approach to the Citadel after Eden Prime.
7. Encouraging Miranda to talk to her sister on her Loyalty Mission.
6. Reuniting with Garrus in ME2.
5. All the convos with Saren especially at the end, an amazing antagonist.
4. Shepard watching that nuke on Virmire go off and one of his/her companions die.
3. The Normandy pwning Sovereign.
2. The cutscene after defeating the Human Reaper fetus and the Collector base blowing.
1. Reembracing Liara after defeating the Shadow Broker. The most personal moment in ME yet great stuff.

Seven examples from each:

ME1:

Seeing the Citadel for the first time

Spectre induction

Ashley talking about her sisters.  They're all as tough as she is!

Kaiden talking about Brain Camp.  Not Jack's-life bad.  But it's amazing he turned out as well adjusted as he did.

The conversation with Sovereign on Virmire.  Creepy, creepy, creepy

The challenge of using only gas grenades on Zhu's Hope

The Arcturus Fleet showing up like the proverbial cavalry

ME 2:

Meeting Wrex on Tuchanka  "Shepard!  My friend!"

Tali's Loyalty mission.  All of it.

Initial chat with Grunt, particularly the end when you come to an "agreement" with him.

Any opportunity to talk smack to The Illusive Man

Omega IV Relay, Seeing how the Normandy improvements actually come in handy.

The Long Walk.  I expecially like using Jack for that.  With that poor girl's past, she deserves a chance to be a hero.

LOTSB, the talk with TV before the boss fight.  She talks about all the terrible things Cerberus has done in the past, and you can respond with all the terrible things you've done in the past.  "I unleashed the rachni on the galaxy!  I sacrificed hundreds of human lives to save the Council!"

ME1:
+Everything that has Wrex in it.
+The peaceful resolution of "I remember me"
+Virmire, the talk with Sovereign.
+Virmire, the first real confrontation with Saren.
+Virmire, when you know somebody will be left behind.
+The most tasteful sex-scene in videogame history.
+The conversation with Vigil
+The final sequence, from when Shepard breaks the glass until the credits roll.

ME2:
+The return of Tali
+Discovering who Archangel is.
+"Shepard, my friend!"
+Zaeed loyalty, renegade ending.
+Tali loyalty, specially the hug, and the final trial.
+Talking with mordin about anything.
+All of Garrus' snarky comments during missions, makes up for all that calibrating time.
+Final section of Horizon, pretty intense battle.
+LoTSB, the boss battles were specially awesome.
+Suicide mission, every single second of it.
+pre-credits sequence, the looming reaper army is just to damn awesome, and gets you pumped for the 3rd game.

I love the ending to Mass Effect 1 and 2 so much. The music, the tension - everything is done so well. So many other moments as well. Thank you for this thread!

Mass Effect moments:
  • Setting foot on Eden Prime.
  • The conversation with Sovereign on Virmire.
  • Liara romance.
  • Setting foot on the Citadel.
  • Ilos.

Mass Effect 2 moments:
  • Afterlife. The most atmospheric and lively bar/club in a game ever.
  • The (improved) Citadel; more lively, more detailed, etc.
  • Illium; beautiful and serene, yet mischievous and dangerous. ****ing awesome place.
  • The mission on the Derelict Reaper. Everything involving Reapers is interesting.
  • The soundtracks were awesome, including the "3rd party" club-music.
  • The depth and quality of the characters; The Illusive Man, Mordin Solus, Kasumi and many others.
  • The Shadow Broker ship in LotSB; such a brilliant idea to "ride with the dawn" and beautifully executed.
  • Liara's character development in ME2 and especially in LotSB.

I probably forgot some moments, but yeah, these moments were awesome.

In Mass Effect One for me it had to be after the Rachni and shepard says three no four! It was hilarious and then the jealousy scene that comes after it sometimes and she says why do i have to chose can't i have you both? Priceless! Also the last battle was epic also on a humorous note Thane's loyalty mission as renegade is hilarious and Tali's loyalty mission I really enjoyed being on the flotilla

Thane's loyalty mission was an extremely refreshing/creative take on how to go about completing a mission. I LOVED being able to interrogate someone...and to CHOOSE whether to be "good cop" or "bad cop" was simply amazing...totally upped the fun factor for that mission.

Punching the that annoying reporter.

We're gonna need a bigger boot Comander- Kaiden

All the tinglys I felt when they make your Shep into a Spectre!

Mass Effect 2

How badass Garrus became

Mordin... need I say more

I love the paragon and renegade button that was awesome

all the different romances... although I planned on staying true to Kaiden

How sexy Liara became.... she went from innocent to a bad girl in just a few years

The whole opening of ME2 is amazing. It really sticks with you.
When they show the Normandy SR2 for the first time I got goosebumps. It makes you want to shout, " **** yeah!"

Every time I see someone play or talk about ME2, It makes me want to go play it. Very few games make me do that. Bioware you rock!
