Ah yes, nostalgia! Shame this is the GD forum...

Vigil convo, I'm always extremely emotional on Ilos.

Shepard crawling out of the rubble, and flashing that cheesy grin.

Udina - "...drive them back into dark space!" *fistclench*

Normandy Reborn

Shepard's SM speech, and hunt for Saren speech.

"This one's face name is Delanynder..."

You can just go on and on listing them....

First time visiting the Citadel
Landing on an uncharted world for the first time and have a thresher maw rise up and tip the Mako upside down.

Noveria (first played it during christmas when it was snowing, pretty cool =)  )
Lorik Q'uinn
Shai'ra
Virmire and the decisions
Anderson punching Udina
Ilos and the Citadel = Epic two part finale.

Mass Effect 2:

Re-uniting with Garrus and Wrex
Meeting Aria
Thane's RM and LM
The new Normandy and crew
The Collector Ship
Derelict Reaper
Suicide Mission

For me, the most fantastic moments were looking out across Sovereign's landing site on Eden Prime (before using the beacon), stealing the Normandy and heading for Illos, pissing the Illusive Man off as a paragon, and any time I could make Shepard give a Patrick Stewart-style speech (specifically on the initial launch of the Normandy from the Citadel, before entering the collector base, and before facing the ME2 final boss, but both confrontations with Saren were pretty good in that regard as well).

A good number of planets in Mass Effect made me positively ecstatic just by driving across them in the Mako. Beautiful, beautiful scenery and fabulous skies. Too bad so many people complain about that part so much. In real life I'm a professional geologist, a (rather bad) artist, and a rough-driving outdoor enthusiast, and lemme say I loved the hell out of the Mako sequences.

One final note: Tali needing a hug. 'Nuff said.

For me in ME1:
+ Citadel first time
+ Virmire: Souvereign: "I am the vanguard of your destruction"
+ ILOS Vigil
+ End Battle on Insanity
+ Credit background music (M4 Part II) (Best credit music besides Portal)
+ Soundtrack
+ Dancing

ME2:
+ my first Vanguard Charge
+ Mordin (both quests)
+ Seeing Wrex again
+ Having Tali and Garrus with me
+ Talking to Legion first time
+ Legion Loyality Quest and resulting decisions
+ LotSB (Best DLC I ever played besides some crazy Borderlands DLC)
+ Getting a message from the Rachni Queen
+ Joking about Conrad V.
+ Dancing again ...

I have to say there is only one other game that I have enjoyed that much like ME1 and ME2 which is Lost Odyssey. These 3 games are indeed emotional engaging.

Can't say I have any certain memories of ME1 that weren't part of the story because all I've experienced about it were walkthroughs on youtube buuuut here are my picks:
-Reuniting with Wrex and seeing him in charge of a powerful clan
-Reuniting with Garrus
-Everything Mordin
-The renegade option to gain a discount in one of the Citadel shops-"Hey everyone! This store discriminates against the poor."
-Everything associated with the Reapers and the threat they hold
-Harbringer awakening in the end of ME2
-Chat with Vigil
-Chat with Sovereign
-End of Project Overlord DLC
-Everything Saren

Wow! Thank you for posting here Preston...your response is greatly appreciated!

I have to say...seeing the whole Blasto phenomenon on the forums and then hearing about him in the actual game?! -It was definately an amazing moment.

And the bit about Mass Effect 3- that's great to hear that! We are so excited for 3!

Well, I imagine you guys would still have a lot of polishing left to do....but am I right in assuming that all the missions/gameplay/story/characters are already fleshed out and in place?

ehh....I think all we need to know is that it'll be out Holiday 2011...so your guess would be the best answer at this point...

Just cause you can play through the game start to finish doesn't mean its complete.

If they released ME3 as it is right now, there would be SO MUCH BASHING.

Mass Effect: "Is that the kind of person we want protecting the Galaxy?" I love that whole opening.
Virmire (especialy the hold the line speech)
Saren transforming into that monster.

Mass Effect 2: The SR2 being revealed.
Saving Tali from the Colossus.
Shepard telling off the Admirals.
Legion's reveal.
Zaeed going ape**** during his loyalty mission.
The entire Suicide Mission.

Mordin busting out the Gilbert and Sullivan was also a huge highlight for the musical theatre geek lurking just beneath my mild-mannered exterior....:whistle:

Well breaking every bone in your body by trying to jump right to 300 pound weights is a very good way of making yourself indistinguishable from a Turian.

Har Har! Tis but a starting weight! The might of Kane-Corr the Biotic cannot be matched by the Reapers!

Yes...those scenes evoked soo much emotion. One was on a serious note, while the other seemed to portray comedy (mood) perfectly! The best of Mass Effect indeed!

I'll bite...

MASS EFFECT

* When I first saw the opening with my first custom Shepard. That was awesome.
* I still always love the moment on Eden Prime where Saren and Nihilus meet. Especially for the final part where you see Saren draw the gun behind Nihilus, then it cuts back to gameplay and you hear the distant, echoing shot. A classic case of a scene made just that much better by choosing not to show everything.
* The Normandy first docking at The Citadel.
* I always love the introduction to Wrex. Especially that moment where he talks right into the C-Sec officer's face, making him cringe away.
* Tali's intro is pretty good too. Love her flicking the grenade back at the salarians.
* Spectre Induction. Always epic, IMO.
* Parasini taking Anoleis away on Noveria.
* Wrex Virmire Confrontation.
* Saren's monologue on Virmire.
* Escaping Lockdown.
* Joker dropping The Mako on Ilos.
* First seeing the life-support tubes on Ilos.
* Pretty much the entire finale.
* BDtS, when Kate's brother is shot.

MASS EFFECT 2

* The opening (the first few times).
* Meeting Tali again on Freedom's Progress
* First entering Afterlife.
* Archangel's introductuion.
* Jack's escape attempt.
* Meeting the first tank-bred krogan.
* Samara's introduction.
* The Biotic God!
* Thane's entrance on Illium.
* Talking with Mordin on his loyalty mission.
* Meeting Wrex again on Tuchanka.
* Telling Miranda to go to Oriana.
* A Paragon Shepard with Garrus on his loyalty mission.
* Samara vs. Morinth fight.
* Hugging Tali on her loyalty mission.
* Defending Tali with the Paragon speech option at her trial.
* Kasumi vs. the Gunship.
* Legion's introduction.
* Mordin's Song
* Confronting Legion about why he's wearing a piece of your armour.
* Final Overlord scene.
* Almost all of LotSB. That thing was just full of win. If I had to single something out, then either the car chase or the very ending (especially if you romanced Liara).
