Well at least with these 2 they're just experience and gold, things you can get for playing for a couple of hours longer. It's not like we're missing out on any weapons or armor if we don't hit the 1m mark.

if it's like DA:O where there was a limit to the amount of exp and gold we could get i want to get as much as possible. i dont like how we couldnt go back to previous areas and kill things again for more gold and exp.:pinched:

It seems that Amulet of Ashes and Ring of Whispers are the only two DLCs I can't get.

I'm so disappointed.

The future of video games lies in microtransactions, I guess.

Great. More day one DLC. Why can't they just put this in to the game and actually give us a finished product instead of spitting on loyal consumers?

yes, rewarding loyal players by doing things like signing up for a damn newsletter, which costs no money on your part, or playing a demo, again no money on your part, with bonus items that dont even need to be in the main game. they're giving you a full game that has a full armory of gear but giving an expanded armory to those who work on keeping themselves informed on what's going on with the game and spreading the word about the game to all friends. if you dont want to partake in these bonuses then it's no skin off anyone's nose but your own.

Nope, you only get Hayden's Razor on the console you beat the demo on, but yeah you can still beat it on multiple consoles & PC to unlock for all.

The OP should add this info to the first post.

I have the Signature Edition pre-ordered and I have a question that's been nagging me for a while about the bonus weapons. Do these Sig. Edition exclusive weapons automatically show up in-game in the chest at Kirkwall? Or do you have to redeem them with a code like the Staff of Parlathan? If the latter, how many times are you allowed to redeem the items? I know the Staff can only be redeemed once but is that true for the other items? For example, if I play as a mage during my first playthrough can I get the bonus weapons, like the Might of Sten and Fadeshear, for my party members and then on a second playthrough, get the weapons again, and equip them on my new character?

Yeah it should work just like Origins in that regard, would be really lame if it didn't.

A problem I have with most DLC items is that they're not all that well integrated into the game, at least taking DA:O and ME2 as examples. Some of the items look nifty and I'd love to use them, but having them in my backpack right from the get-go is not the way I want to get them. You may say now "don't want them, don't use them", but the problem is I want to use them, but now I have the unsatisfactory choice of either using them right from the start, possibly unbalancing the game, or arbitrarily restricting myself from using them, until some time later in the game, which is not much fun, as it's in my nature to gather the best possible equipment and setup from within the game. DLC items are ok for the most part, but at least integrate them properly in the game. Make them quest rewards, make them fixed loot in some dungeon or distribute them to NPC vendors. Make me work for them. Don't just put them in my backpack with a figurative "choke on it" notice attached to them.

You don't get DLC items at the very start of Dragon Age II, your opinion is invalid.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using a glitch or two. How else would I have gotten an arcane warrior, spirit healer, blood mage, battle mage with every skill?
