Okay I upgraded my system to 12 GB of memory...still no luck and no this isn't a page file issue, I can reproduce crash best by going through Mage tower and using Alister's "smite" however many other spell effects cause it too, it ONLY crashes during combat.

My system Specs:
CPU:         AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Black Processor
Mobo:       GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G
GPU:         GIGABYTE GV-R489OC-1GD Radeon HD 4890
Memory:   12GB (2 x 2GB) + (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
PSU:         Antec earthwatts EA500 500W ATX12V v2.2
Drives:      2 x Western Digital 750gb RE2 drive 1 drive boots xp, other drive boots windows 7 x64

Game works on xp.....but I really never use xp now except for playing this game and having to reboot and change boot drive in bios each time I play is a poor fix.

I've been getting sporadic game crashes for a while on Win7 x64 Ultimate, usually at known crash hotspots like the Sloth Demon battle.

CPU:         Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz
Mobo:       XFX nForce 790i Ultra
GPU:         XFX GeForce 8800GT 1024MB (slightly underclocked to avoid the notorious nvlddmkm.sys BSOD)
Memory:   4GB OCZ DDR3 (can't remember exact product number)
PSU:         I think it's a 1000W
Drives:      WD 500GB with Win7 and DAO installed.

GPU-Z is a free program that might help get the missing temps/fanspeed:

EDIT:  Assuming that's an NVidia 470 card, Nvidia recently released updated drivers... ver. 266.58

I just want to tell you that for me the "inventrory crash" seems to be gone.
What
did I do? I installed up to date ati video drivers, made a "factory
reset" of all driver options and removed any programme that manipulated
the graphic cards clock-settings, like ati-tool.
Until then, I manually switched the
timings and graphical options for my graphics card via ATITool, and while no real
overclocking did happen, it ran with 4mhz (!) to fast because of my
laziness to finetune the mhz-slider. ..

My PC ran totally fine for
months, NO other game did crash, no benchmark would fail because of
this... But DA did take offense, somehow.
It still crashes during battles in the mage´s tower../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png, though. But the inventory related crashes seem to be gone - at least it didn´t happen for some hours now..../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png

This came just at the right time; because the game itself get´s more and more boring over time, I would´ve stopped playing it by now with the inventory bug still lurking around..
