How will Darkspawn sickness be handled, since Hawke isn't a Warden.

Title mostly says it all.

I am wondering how Darkspawn sickness will be handled, now that we are no longer a warden and have the 'taint' to protect us.

I do understand that Zeveran, Morrigan, Wynnee and well everyone in your party besides Alistar wasn't a Warden. And they seem to do just fine.

But I am curious to see if it will be mentioned, handled, or if Hawke has a risk of being infected by it.

That's a very interesting question.

To say more would be telling.

Everyone will just be really careful not to imbibe it, or get it in any of their wounds. Just like all the non-wardens in DAO.

I remember reading that there were plans for your companions to go through with the Joining in DAO but it was scrapped early in. I don't think we'll see the taint outside of Story motivated means, like with Wesley. Just one of those things that are hand waved away for gameplay purposes.

It turns out Hawke and company are all infected, and the "monsters" you're fighting are really innocent people. The entire story is just a hallucination created by the taint...really, you're just a crazy mass-murderer.

Hawke and everyone becomes Grey Wardens out of necessity. Why do you think Anders might be a companion. Someone has to perform those joinings.

Could be similar to in The Calling how Maric was given something by the Circle to fight the taint.

Hawke is an abomination and the demon protects him.

Hawke and Co. do get "tainted" while running from Ferelden. Flemeth saves them from the Darkspawn and the taint in exchange for Hawke delivering a package. How can Flemeth do that? She's just that awesome, that's why.

The above is more then likely to be wrong but whatever.

Sounds like one of the Blackwood Company quests in Oblivion.

They ignored it with DA1's companions so there's little reason they wouldn't ignore it in DA2.

They're not being careful either, after a fight said companions can be completely covered in their blood.

Flemeth does something to make them immune to the taint?

The same way they did in Origins: utterly ignoring it.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Aveline being in the Warden Commander armor.

"No Hawke you are the Qunari."
*And then Hawke was a Qunari*

I always just justify it by imagining that Morrigan cook up some darkspawn taint vaccine like the First Enchanter did back in the Calling.

I used to pretend that Morrigan provided the non Grey Warden members of the party with the potion that protected Maric in The Calling from Darkspawn taint. Obviously Flemeth would have the recipe, and share it with Morrigan.

I may be doing similar pretending in this game. Although if Merrill had that sort of potion, it would have been awfully useful in the Dalish Origin. =P

Edit:  Wow, I am not the only person who roleplayed this!  I feel better about sharing my nerdery.:wizard:

I seem to remember there were originally going to be taint cure potons in DAO but they got scrapped for some reason.
