Im trying to load DA:O to my laptop to play while Im at work and what not.  I was able to successfully install to my desktop with no problems.  I get through installation with no problem, I get to the enter your EA Account Info thing and it just continously brings up We've encountered an Error.  Able to log in here and on EA's site as well.  Has anyone else had this issue or is it something specific to mine.

TS Steps taken thus far:
Uninstall/Reinstall 3x
Uninstall Reg Clean/Reinstall 2x
Search Forums looking for a resolution.
Go through EA Help database looking for a resolution.
SSH Tunnel to try and bypass possible firewall issues here at work.
Tethered through my 3g moto q9h
Tethered and SSH over my moto q9h
Broke down and came to the forums.

Hi Sentry5. Since you can clearly connect to the Internet I think it is safe to assume that this is not a networking issue. I'm not sure when you last tried to log-in, but try again once more just to be sure. If you still encounter the same error, try changing your EA Account's password to something that does not contain special characters (alphanumeric should be safe) and trying again. If you still encounter the same error, please PM me.

Even with SSH tunneling, although the software should see no difference between a tunnel or regular connection, we all know that sometimes layers can cause BS. I fought for hours with this type of situation once, just to realize that for some reason port traffic got garbled in my ssh tunnel.

It really looks like some obscured port traffic is the result of what you're seeing. Then again, the error message the game gives you isnt very specific.

Are you describing the Activation window, where you log in to your EA account?

If so that message means that your connection to EA's servers is blocked.

Have you tried to launch the game from the "Play" button in EA Download Manager?

Have you tried connecting from your home connection?

Yes its the Activation window where you log into your EA Account. Ive tunnelled in to a server that is wide open. Ive also gone over my moto q9h which is open with no ports blocked.

Which install method are you using? EADM, D2D, ? And if EADM how did you get the game to download without logging in?

It was from D2D, I have been unable to find any resolution yet. My desktop and my laptop both run windows 7 ultimate so I am unable to use EADM as they still dont have a windows 7 version. Its only been about a month since the official launch of Win7 and over a year of Betas and RCs for Win7.

Desktop - Working never had an issue.

Core i7 920 @ 940 clocking

9gb ddr3

Nvidia GTX260

64gb ssd boot drive

3 tb of storage hdds

Laptop - Unable to authenticate

Core2Duo P7350

4gb DDR3

Nvidia 9700m

320gb hdd

Been running Windows 7 myself since launch and have had no issues installing and running EADM.

Download the EADM:

http://eastore.ea.com/eadm

Install

it and then run it. Click the login tab and then log in to your

EA account. Should be the same account you use to login here. Next

click the activation tab. Activate your copy using the Key provided to

you by Direct 2 Drive. Next goto downloads and it should show up as

already downloaded with the option to play.

Still coming up and stating I need flash player installed, went through multiple sites looking for fixes and none of them have worked, all flash content plays properly in IE and Firefox. Unable to locate loginwin.html file that alot of the fixes talk about.

Hi!

I have the same situation, but a sligthly different problem. Though I can log in into my account using my laptop, the game on the laptop will not download content I have bought with my home-pc. Which makes it impossible for me to load a save game, as I have the collectors edition. any way to force my laptop to download the collector edition stuff?

Thanks

Ok finally fixed my issue. The flash issue i was having with the EADM was resolved by formatting and reinstalling Win7 Ultimate. Something didnt take properly in the install im guessing. getting all of my DLC content loaded to the laptop. Thanks all.
