I use Steam and XP64 SP2 =(

Can I just grab SQL 2008 Express, install that, install the toolset, have it "use" 2008 and thus skipping both problems?

Didn't try it with the toolset but for other applications i know it works without problems.

i used my sql 2008 sp1 Developer - install - works like a charm - sql 2008 Express should work too - just be sure to use the sql-native client when u manually set the database connection with the "ConfigureToolset" Utility
