I can't kill the archdemon on my hard playthrough with this type of warrior. I've started over at this point. Can someone who's done it give me a rough outline of your build?

Sorry I use stupid words for things. I mean, I'm trying to get through hard with a warrior that focus on purely damage dealing out of the shield tree instead of tanking.

What was your Party? It shouldn't be difficult to defeat the Archdemon. Did you get Greater Spirit balms from Sandal?
I thought this subject was about S&S DPS versus two handers ha ha.

My party was Wynne, Alistair & Leliana. I don't know why really, I just can't kill him before I lose a party member. I've never beaten the game on hard before so in retrospect, a sword & shield damage dealer was a bad choice. I made the mistake of overwriting saves all game so once I entered Fort Drakon, I had nowhere to backtrack to. Oh well, I guess I'll have to try a two-hander instead. Seems to be the best rout for a damage dealing warrior.

If you want a DPS warrior you will have to go the Dual Wielding Berserk route a two-hander is for crowd control and will only be a notch or two above a sword and board character in the damage department.

Well you could use the elves as a supporting army, have your 3 NPC's do whatever they like (have wynne for healing of course) and just make good use of the balistas there around. You can kill it with that alone.
If you want to go in close you should go with another army like the dwarves. Then you will be a big group around the arch demon and the chances of you being picked up and become its chewtoy is very unlikely as long as you stay away from the front.

Try using Taunt on the arch Demon then have Wynne put you in a 'Forcefield'... if you time it right (get it up BEFORE the first hit then) the boss will continue to attack you until the 'Forefield' drops.

Ehh I killed the Archie on hard with a S&S warrior. Party included Alistair, Leliana and Wynne. Spam health pots, ensure at least one person is wearing Corruption and that the others drink spirit balms.
