If they did a DLC starring the virmire survivor, then in me3, they would have some players continuing on from there, but then for the players who didnt buy the dlc, it wouldnt fit in or make sense.

they are obviously keeping the resolutions for me3 so everyone gets to play it and it all fits in properly.

i would rather have ash/kaiden all through me3 that everyone gets to play, then have it wrapped up in a dlc that some people get and some people dont. as that would stuff up the continuities with me3

Honestly...we should just wait at this point...fans would totally benefit more (and I know that's hard to swallow) if Ash/Kaidan were just in ME3. Think about how memorable the game would be to you. Like...it would be THAT much more to you than to Liara fans...Tali fans...Miranda fans, etc. You guys will get your reward....you just need a teensy bit more of patience to last the next few months. It'll be ok.

It's the same for LotSB though.

^yep, agree. if you didn't buy LotSB you won't have any clue in ME3 abou T'Soni's "promotion"

They've already said it's a bridging DLC, so you'll be missing out on stuff anyways if you don't purchase it. Might as well be about the Virmire survivor.

The events of the DLC will happen anyway, you just won't play through it. Just as ME1 still happened even if you start a default game in ME2. Or how the end of LotSB is still almost certainly going to have an impact on ME3 even if you don't play it.

They'll find a way to tie the story in. Afterall, you could skip Cerberus missions entirely in ME1... yet there Cerberus is and you get to hear some backstory about how big and bad the military division was. ME3 will let people know how Liara becomes Shadow Broker for those who didn't play ME2... and if the VS is the next DLC... it'll be told in a way that their story can be explained in passing as well. Bioware has an excellent writting staff. It's not tough writing an open-ended multi branching story but they do it well. Give them the bennefit of the doubt. I for one, will take any and all DLC before ME3.

If they do make a Virmire-survivor DLC, they wouldn't do so just to make up for Liara being a love interest and getting her own DLC. Judging from an interview, I would expect plot-continuation DLC in the near future that bridges the ME2-ME3 gap. They can't use a "Shepard died" excuse to explain the 2-year difference this time around.

Very funny... or wait, they could use the VS DLC to craft a story that is so compelling that it convinces more people to purchase/replay ME1 and some of the other DLC.

No, that's just ridiculous.

I wouldn't call it dumb OP, Ash/Kaidan are pretty much cameos in ME2 and there are obviously people who wanted them featured in the game a lot more.

This was the same situation with Liara before LotSB came out and that proved to fans that a DLC featuring either character would probably do them justice for the 2nd game and that it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to make it, not to mention there are many ways to include them as bridging content in preparation for ME3.

TBH I'm a bit anxious to find out what the next DLC will involve but there are people, especially on this forum that wants to see 'em.

Ash and Kaidan were dull, boring characters and the only way I would like to see them in a DLC is if we get the chance to finish off whoever survived at Virmire.

The Virmire decision was a tough one for me not because I was attached to both characters but more because I wanted to kill them both yet I only had one bullet.

If people have not played LotSB, they will make an assumption for story purposes and you will merely lose content. Why should the remainder of the fanbase be punished because you were incapable or unwilling to play the DLC, be it Ash/Kaidan or LotSB? In the case of the former, well that is unfortunate. If it is the latter, you were either too cheap or stubborn to purchase the DLC, thus I do not care of your qualms about continuity.

I really adore Kaidan, sorry, don't agree with you and would love to see DLC but they won't do it. It wouldn't sell enough copies. I have my doubts whether we'll even see Kaidan/Ash for more than just a cameo in ME3 too. My son is taking bets on how soon in ME3, they'll kill Kaidan/Ash off.  I'm not even playing the game until after he plays it so he can check it out first.

It really depends on what the writers have cooked up for ME3. The story dictates when Ash/Kaidan will return. I'm fine with the new DLC no matter what they do as long as it propels the plot forward like Lair did.

Continuity would be no problem; that kind of background info would be easy enough to write into ME3.

Ideally I'd like the VS to be a squadmate in ME3, but a LotSB-quality DLC would be nearly as good. Better than another fleeting cameo, at any rate. Ugh...

Totally disagree.

1. Any one who thinks Kaidan and Carth are the same person is an utter moron. A vegetable has more thinking power than you do. Kaidan is not a whiny b!tch who blames too ,much on himself and entertains all these pity parties.

2. As with LotSb, many, many fans would love to see some continuation of the romances/relationships with Ash/Kai and Shep continue. Not necessarily resolve, but continue. Having Shepard work with the Alliance, having Ashley or Kaidan be the liaison, could lead to some interactions that were sorely missed in ME2. Oh, and fixing the lazy eye animations would be nice, too.

Some fans deserve better than that. Just saying.

I couldn't care less if there wasn't a virmire survivor DLC. Ash and Kaiden were equally boring and had virtually no personality.
