I have noticed something that may fix the corrupted save files problem temporarily.  I have been playing for at least over 40+ hours now and one thing I have done before starting the game is turning the Auto-save function off.
Since starting the game I have not encountered a freezing problem that leads to the corruption of save files.

My theory is the bug happens when the auto save ticks in, trying to save and a memory error within the game occurs thus corrupting the files.  Try this out and let me know how far if errors still persist, otherwise I maybe running on borrowed time and we're all just S.O.L. till Bioware patches the game.

My game froze returning back to the Normandy. Loading Icon didn't move. I wait for a bit. Grab a drink. And I did a soft reset. Upon return to the game... I got "New Game". Auto-Save function wasn't on for me. I have the 60 gig that plays the PS2 games. I'm gonna wait for a reply from support. Back to Final Fantasy 13 or Fallout for me... =\\

Try playing the game with auto save off.. As my opening topic mentioned and see if it works.

I always leave 'auto-save' feature off when I play my games.

Hello! I've just return the game for full credit towards next purchase. I had to talk to the manager for 30+ mins but it was well worth it. I'm also going to tell my friends about my experience. Make sure you tell all of your friends too! Facebook / Twitter etc. Good luck on your next purchase! I'm leaving Bioware.

You know, as much as the issues with the PS3 version of ME2 worry me (I haven't had problems so far) whenever I play the game, I think it's a bit unfair to hold every Bioware employee accountable for the actions of the few. The "few" being the employees directly responsible for the development of ME2 for the PS3.

You can blame all of Bioware if you want and stomp off in a huff. I won't. Right now, I still hold the Dragon Age development team in high regard, same with the ME2 team.

But, please, Bioware, give it your best shot in fixing the ME2 issues folks are having. Believe it or not, but when folks invest $60 plus in your products, they expect to have a product worthy of the Bioware name on it.

I keep backing my saves on a usb disk.

I haven't encountered any freezing and I have auto save on.

Should I turn it off or should I leave it as-is in case it does cause my **** to go south.

I'm on LOTSB btw

I will try this as this just happened to me as well. I was just about to save my files to a USB stick too. Not happy...

I was just opening the door to the observatory on a recruiting mission when it froze. D@m it!

Brand new game for me now :crying:

I'm alright with the freezing if it does not occur too much but my save files were destroyed and that is the sucky part.

Thanks Bioware for an awesome game but PLEASE fix this as soon as you can! These bugs takes all the pleasure out of playing.
