Shepard: You're under arrest.
TIM: What? you can't arrest me!
Kasumi: -uncloaks behind TIM with a gun to his head- you heard him Mr. Illusive.

I presume it would be during the Reaper War itself.

At which point I'd have far bigger (cuttle)fish to fry than the Illusive Man.

Hold his head underwater for 30 seconds per crime himself and his organization committed. So when this time passes and if TIM didn't manage to make it I will honor his memory by flushing his body out a hatch and into a nearby sun.

Then hope Bioware does not have Cerberus pull a magic space wizard and do a "Project Phoenix" to bring him back.

The vehement opposition to TIM really astounds me. I understand not liking the guy, but I wonder how Shepard would have defeated the Collectors without him.

It is quite possible to vehemently oppose someone and yet still acknowledge that they've been helpful.  Even very helpful. Doing so doesn't mean you suddenly agree with their POV or their long-term goals.

TIM: I brought you back, Shepard! Without me, you'd be dead on some barren planet, or worse, processed into a Reaper!
Shepard: Think of it this way, maybe you won't go to hell after I kill you. I dunno. I'm an atheist.

Shepard: I appreciate your help Mr. Man but I don't agree with your methods so we have to part ways.

The Illusive Man: What a funny story Shepard. You can't leave me.

Shepard: *tries to leave* What is this? I made a choice to leave, you can't keep me here.

The Illusive Man: Ah yes, choice... Freedom to do what you think is right, Bioware has dismissed that claim.

Shepard: Fine so now what?

The Illusive Man: Nothing. You still work for Cerberus.

Shepard: No I don't. *kills himself*

Miranda: Commander Shepard has been recovered. Lazarus Project 2.0 will proceed as planned.

Bioware:

I'm not saying you have to bow down and accept the man as your master or anything. Rather, instead of wanting him dead one should keep in perspective what state the galaxy would be in without him.

Yeah, but again: you can fully acknowledge that and still believe the galaxy would ultimately be better off without him. That's not the same as thinking the galaxy would be better off if he'd been dead prior to ME2.

Goodbye.

I don't like the fact that BioWare had to kill Shepard just to force him into working for Cerberus. The whole Lazarus project was hard to swallow even in Mass Effect's sci-fi universe. The fact that Shepard never even stops to dwell on the fact that he was resurrected bothers me more. Is there a reason for all this other than having TIM amd co. be the heros who brought Shep back to life?

BioWare had to bend over backwards to shove Cerberus down our throats and I do not like it. They taste funny.
