Anyone who suffers nerdrage from not seeing, or seeing and not liking the alien-ness of Tali's face, seriously needs to get out of their mums basement, and get a life.

Say Bob really really wants to know what Tali looks like. But Joe doesn't, he prefers the mystery and his own imagination.

All BioWare has to do is think of a way to make such a reveal optional, such as through an optional conversation. That way Bob can see Tali's face, and Joe can keep the mystery.

Everyone wins.

Until Bob posts a bajillion screenshots on the interwebs and Joe inevitably runs into them without ever intending to.

I seem to have a habit of making myself look like an utter fool on these forums...

You can get a pretty good idea of her basic features anyway in the game. She has two eyes a nose and a mouth with lips. The models all have faces under the helmets. Unless the refraction of the light through her mask is a lot, it looks like she has a large nose with a flat bridge.

...because even if they had a "concept" of what they look like without the suits...with all the Tali stalkers out there if they reveal them and they're really really alien looking there will be a nerdrage of biblical proportions....

I want them to make Tali really ugly just to give the finger to shallow romancers who only went after her because of those hips.

Or until Joe, being a completionist takes that option anyway and starts ****ing about how bioware 'made' him do it.

I thought the main reason was, "Ooh, she could get sick.  She's vulnerable.  I wonder what she looks like under the helmet."

I'd find it ridiculous if Bioware kept the quarians appearance a secret just because they're afraid of pissing off some fans.

Everyone else in the galaxy knows what they look like.
Shepard knows what they look like.
So we should too.

This.

I think we should see the face, and live with the consequences.  The bald female turians are growing on me, (still would like to see a fringe on them though).

Bioware says they can't make the female aliens because that would take away time making totally all new male aliens.

They probably think the same thing about quarians. They will rather do art for new aliens instead of working on showing what the quarians look like.

There was a reason that they never revealed Wilson's face until the series finale...

I'm of the reverse opinion. It should never have been a mystery at all.

I accept the need for the environmental suits, its an interesting flourish. I do. How ever, tinting the faceplate only leads to a sense of secrecy, and suspicion. Its the reverse Elcor issue. Elcor have subtle non-verbal communication, and compensate for such.

Quarians are clearly viviparous mammals, with typical cues in facial expression and stance, they smile (Tali mentioned her father never does, thus they have the gesture and its lack was notable in him) have eyes and nose in the same places as Assari and humans, but deliberately cloud those social cues when a clear faceplate would avoid this.

Its one thing for Volus to be hidden fully in their rigs, maintaining conditions for a high pressure, anaerobic metabolism wont be easy, and they are likely adapted to conditions where dense cloud cover blocks most radiation, but Quarians have no good reason to be so occluded when it actively hurts them, not just with other races, but also as they are suited on the flotilla, their own.

I think they should give the reveal near the end of ME3.

Yes it would take away Tali's mystery, but this is the end. May as well see what she looks like before the credits roll. It would be kinda irritating for Bioware to make this big deal out of what Quarians look like and then simply never reveal it, you'd just be left hanging.

Don't think it should be kept secret just to keep some fans' imaginary face for Tali alive. I doubt seeing her face would ruin the character.

It's incredibly dumb that you can't see what a Quarian looks like under their suite. You would think there would be pictures of them on the interextranet (don't remember what's it's called in the Mass Effect universe) of how they looked before they had to wear suits.

Fixxed!:D

Yeah, duh,  I really couldn't remember and was too lazy to make a simple search. What's worst is that I've played through Mass Effect 1 & 2, 6 times each. Yeah I know, shame on me. Posted Image

I agree with the OP. At this point, I don't want to see Tali's face ever. A lot of Quarian charm is in their mystery. Tali should look as we imagine her to.

Just like I never want to see Master Chief's face in Halo. Or Kiss without their makeup. Wait...

Well you can make out through the visor that the Quarians have got basic humanoid features. However I think we'll see something more akin to elves from fantasy. Pointed ears, tight skin which excenuates are sharp bone structure in the face. However for the most part they'll be humans.

I want to know what quarians look like!

I'm not one of those people who get swept up in the mystery of it all. I'm not gona rage just because she not what i thought up in my mind, that would just be stupid. I just want to know and be happy.

I agree with making it so seing what they look like is optional. Yeah its not perfect but it will atleast reduce the ammount of rage on both sidesPosted Image

Let's face it, if Bioware decides to show Tali's face we can expect a whole lot of this:

Regardless of if she's beautiful, ugly or just average.

This.

Honestly, I can see powerful arguments for and against showing her face, but in the end, I'll be okay with either option. If not, that's okay with me. Fan-speculation is fun! If so, well, I already like quarians in general, and especially Tali, Kal, Veetor, and Zaal'Koris vas Qwib-Qwib, and revealing their facial structure isn't going to change that.

No goddamn space elves, I hope.  There's no reason for pointy ears anyway.
