One could argue they tint the facemasks to give them a semblance of privacy, sine privacy's basically nonexistent in the cramped quarters of the Migrant Fleet, where they can have multiple quarians sharing sleeping quarters. Though one does wonder if there's polarizing/depolarizing visor technology in the ME universe similar to what the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers have in Halo 3: ODST.

You can take solace in the fact that pointy ears are highly unlikely. The use of the phrase "what [passes] for the quarian version of an ear" gives the impression that they don't look anything like ears as we would expect them. Elf ears might look different, but they're very obviously ears to us. Who knows, maybe they'll be like Piccolo's ears from Dragonball Z or something.

Why cant they just make an average looking face that still fits with canon? Why are the option only super model and ugly wierd alien?

Nobody romancing Garrus is complaining about how he looks, and he is very alien.

Dont be a dick and make her super ugly for the lols. Make sure what has been seen behind the mask fits though, keep to your source material, dont throw that away for a completely new design. The people who like Tali wont have any problem with an average looking alien.

If they reveal her face, well, that's a plus, but it won't have much impact on me if they don't.

Shepard looked pretty impressed when she lost the mask, so I don't think there's any harm in seeing her face, because it probably won't be TOO alien. That being said, I wouldn't mind if her face is never shown. It'd be Bioware leaving the Quarian face for the fans to decide for themselves. There's a sense of mystery to it, like it's something that lives only in the past when Quarians were mask-free.

As much as I love Tali, agreed, I hope they don't reveal any quarian faces. There is no feasible way BioWare could appease everyone, since we all seem to have our own ideas on what they look like.

What I think would be cool is if we ever see Tali's face/what a Quarian looks like without a suit, it's as they're dying, shot up or something and a bullet has shattered her visor. All the people who love Tali enough to never let her die never see her face. People who don't like her, don't care, or simply enjoy the dramatic part of a story where a beloved character dies gets an epic cutscene unveiling Quarians.

Thats like Scooby Doo leaving in the middle of a mystery. Sure it's the easy thing to do, and the guy in a mask would be happy about it but that'd just leave Batman or the Globetrotters wondering why they even bothered guest appearing on the show in the first place.

Now this is just my opinion of course, but I always figured Quarians looked similar to the Tau from Warhammer 40k. Humanoid, but with distinct alien features.



As for the topic at hand... I'm torn about whether they should reveal the Quarians or not. On one hand I really want to see Tali's face, and the race at whole. On the other... I really like the mystery, and I love how the mask looks.

Were you refering to me with that first sentence or the person I quoted? I ask this because I never said nor implied that I dislike Tali.  Infact shes my favourite character. lol

funny this consider your little drawn forum avatar is pretty darn close to how they were probably originally designed considering what we can see and make out of their facial features.  just make that face a little more human-ish and there ya go....pink Quarian...look you even show cleavage.

I'm hoping they show Tali's face or even her whole body (with sideboob a la ME1's Paramour scenes). However, I'm not going to flip out if we don't see it. The ME2 love scene was cute and sexy enough for my tastes.



I'm guessing Quarians will be airless, angular creatures with facial features not unlike Star Wars' kaminoans and luminous eyes, skin tones ranging from grey, to off-white, to light purple.

Yes, let them give in to Tali stalkers. I see nothing wrong with beauty, no matter how fictive it is. And seeing how this is a sci-fi game to start with, Tali being really attractive isn't really that unbelievable.
