Also it's fun how today works. Being targetted as something becus i said i would stay away from that npc. Just shows what kind of person you are. Even if i would be dead seriouse about what i said. It would have been my option to be able to choose without getting the "OMG HOMOFOBE" impression by the forum police.

its 2009 what does it matter if there is a gay romance or not.....its still just a game. if u have a problem wit it then just dont let the gay romance happen.

lol, you really need to stop taking this so seriously. Not only was I joking about the whole "catching they gay" thing, but I was also just stating a fact that you don't need to avoid Zevran to avoid a gay romance, you can simply say "Not interested" and he will leave you alone. I never said or seriously implied you were homophobic. And even if you are homphobic, I really don't give a crap, so all is well.

Only two things bother me about this:

1)Zevran? Really? elf=girly=teh gay, is one the biggest fantasy cliches around, Bioware could have been more original, especially considering they've been purpously flipping a whole bunch of tropes upside down with DA.

2)I have a warped sense of humour and I was hoping for a "Help! Morrigan gave me suprise butt-secks!" thread after some gamer clicked the wrong option.

That said, I'm planning straight characters any ways so it's no skin off my nose.

I was referring to the player perception of elves rather than any actual work of fiction. If you've  never heard a gamer refer to elves as: pansies, limp-wristed, gay, girly, etc etc.. I'd be rather surpised. It just seems like a cop-out, in order avoid putting off the younger audience by having their big manly manly characters hit on them.

If they made Alistair the romance option though, everyone would just say they did it to prevent from having the cliche of a M/M romance with an elf. Catch 22.

It doesnt matter much though, as someone will no doubt make mods to fix this (for PC players anyway).
