Turn autosave off and manually copy your save game files to a usb stick everyday. At least until the game gets patched.

Interesting, I haven't encounter any problem with shadow broker DLC. Thanks for the head up anyway. By the way I play mass effect 2 on my 120 GB slim. Don't know if thats the case the game save files are intact, not corrupt otherwise.

I had a few slow downs during the driving part, however I managed to get to the end without any crashes. FYI my PS3 Slim 160gb is about 4-5 months old. However I have had the system totally crash while playing ME2, however my save file was not affected. I do however now turn off autosave sometimes as I want to control when to save, so it is easier to go back if I mess up. I also replayed the ending of Shadow Broker (the part just before heading the ship)

wish I have seen this before

I just started that DLC after over 30 hours of gameplay and game has frozen during loading of drive section (I assume that was after loading screen) and now m character data is messed up...

errrrr... WTF?

I've played over 30 hours, made lots of stuff, almost every loyalty mission for characters I had and now what?! I haven't experienced any issue for that 30h... and now this. I'm dissapointed...



I have question now for Bioware... will this be fixed via patch and saves will be restored? Shame I cannot upload that file for you to check it. On servers you have my (and other players) game progress probably so it would be possible to recover it somehow. PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN. Now I probably won't finish ME2. I feel robbed from my money and free time I've spent with ME2 (which I love obviously)

Is this bug even known to you Bioware?

they should drop few lines like

"We know about the problem, we are working on it, saves will/won't be restored from our servers (they should be cause I'm pretty sure they have all necessery data to do so)"

we paid them, we deserve to know how situation looks like.

hope that I will read something from them ASAP... othervise they will be like Treyarch with Bug Ops...

 Just figured I would put my 2 cents in.

My game just did the same thing right before the car chase in LOTSB.  My character, which had loyalty on every teammate except for Jack, is gone.  Is there really no fix for this?

I'm just curious.
If you still have that corrupted data and you will check 'information' about it in xmb what does it says?
Mine says A0006 Almani Shepard etc.
In working save there is no 'A0006' label. so I'm curious do you have it and what does it mean

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I have played the game every day since launch and completed the shadow broker a couple days ago. My game has yet to freeze (even though at times it looks like its going to). I'm running on the old fat 80gb. But I'm wondering how my next play through is going to go.

Maybe I'll start over and wait for patch (but probably will finish main game until that time) so I wonder is it possible to beat it after main game

Yes. Shadow Broker was released recently and is intended to be played after the main storyline.

same here mine froze when i fighting through the ship, but everthing is intact and i did not lose my save files (also same PS3  sku, and purchased around the same time (after my OG phat 60 bit the dust)

saving whenever you want won't help you if save file corrupts. no matter how often you will save on different slots it will all go down.

Guys i just finish the shadow broker DLC on my ps3. i completed the mission without any problem(no bug but with some freeze here and there must be frame rate problem). i did turn off the auto save after finding out from this forum that there might be a bug. i manually saved the game 13 time through out the mission. i played this mission after i recruited Thane

My mass effect 2 is R3 and using ps3fat 60Gb(Asia)



(Btw i dunno this helps a not but while manually saving the game, try not to move your chars or interact with any objects around the chars just wait for the saving icon gone before doing anything.)



anyway i finish all the DLC and only (firewalker) seems to give my problem. the stupid hammer cant land on the rock which is floating on the lava, i sank 4 time before finally forcing that bloody thing over the lava -.-"

I had profile lost data after the 3th mission The Professor twice, so its not just shadow broker quest...

It seems more like a random issue during saving the game (auto or no auto saving)

2 profiles gone in the wind...

Saving every day the game on usb is not a solution, i cant pass even 5 hours game time...

Waiting for patch, or killing the PS3 and burning the ME2 Disk!

I was thinking the same thing but what the .... is this, backing up on usb, dont move, dont breeth and in the end dont play at all ))

I apologize for necro bumping this post, but seeing as how it's been a week since Bioware purportedly sent the patch off to Sony and still we've heard nothing about when we will actually see it, I just wanted to make sure newer players were still aware that the shadow broker quest especially seems to have issues, and that they should be cautious when attempting it.

I was able to play through this mission (twice, even) with no real problems. I mean, it froze once after the car chase, but I didn't really attribute that to specifically to LotSB. Btw my PS3 is an 80GB. The one without BC.



The only thing that did I find weird was after I finished the mission I went back to Ilium and somehow Liara was back in her office, and for some reason the whole starting conversation with Shepard giving her the info from Cerberus about the Shadow Broker happened again.

I never had this problem with the DLC, could just be bad luck lol. But DLC i have problem with is the Hammerhead parts.

I've played this DLC twice so far and not a single freeze. This is really weird.

It is a serious glitch, that I hope they fix soon. I am super pissed that not only did I lose all of my character data, but that this is a common problem. Did they not game test?

I was near the end and I feel that it was all just a giant waste of time.
