I send the team mates away -- they pop out of the blue and fight again, nerving me extremly and making the game ridiculous easy.
How can I disable my team mates, is there any .ini-file or so?
How to get rid of my team mates in ME1 ?

In the my documents/bioware/mass effect/config folder is a file called bioparty.ini
Inside that is an entry for;
SquadReformRange=3400
Try playing around withthat figure to see if it makes a difference. Ive never tried so couldnt tell for sure how well it would work. Make sure you download and use Notepad++ instead of the notepad that comes with wnidows.

I increased that number, and my first impression is it seems to work. Thanks mate, you made my day.

yo, I cheered too early.
I am benefitting one thing: They dont pop up out of the blue now, thats good. But ... They still run (instead of "teleporting") back to me (dont hold their position), if I move on.
I guess, there must be somewhere a second setting.

Damn, i was totally wrong. That setting changes nothing.
Is there any possibility to not even load my team mates to the missions, or that they really get killed instead of respawning after a few seconds, or something like that?

I might be wrong but I think you can just start the mission without choosing any squad mates... Just press the "start mission" button or whatever, without first selecting squad mates... I seem to recall that as working, but not sure...

If not two team mates get selected, the game doesnt proceed.

The only other thing i can suggest, is dont level them up, dont give them any decnt armour or weaopns, and disable squad power usage in game settings. They will still be with you, but they will die fairly easy, and not do too much damage to the enemies.

they are meant to do that. the respawn thing. there isn't much you can do with your squad. best bet is to leave them behind. liara, don't go getting her. garrus, leave him behind. wrex, leave him on the citadel. when tali asks to come with you in game, tell her no repeatedly to leave her on the citadel. only squaddies you'll have through the game will be kaiden and ash. that's the best you can do for the game. after a certain point one of the two characters kaiden or ash won't be in the game anymore. won't spoil it for you but that will happen then it will just be you and that one squad mate. try it.

Thx, thats the best tip I got till now :happy:
I played the game 2 times through before two years, but forgot most of the story. Now I try it on insanity, but I dont see much difference.
For ME2 somebody found a .ini-file-tweak, maybe sooner or later someone will show up with a tweak for ME1 as well. Till then, I do so like you told me. One team mate costs less nervs than two.

not a problem. unfortunately in ME2 you can't use that same approach for the main characters. I mean if you don't want Kasumi or Zaeed you don't have to get them. As for Legion you can always send him off to cerberus. The only way to get rid of your main team mates is to kill them off by not upgrading the normandy and then on the suicide mission send the wrong people on the wrong missions. But then again that ends the game in having Shepard die. *shrugs* Just a little fyi for those wanting to get rid of the squadies in ME2.
