I was thinking about ToR and about MMOs in general, and I got to wondering how the Light Side/Dark Side morality system is going to work with the Republic vs Sith Empire faction system.
Hypothetically, suppose someone was playing as a Jedi Knight and joined a Republic guild. (I'm assuming guilds are going to exist in ToR; they're kind of an MMO staple.) While a member of the aforementioned guild, this Jedi turned to the Dark Side. Would he still be eligible for membership in the Republic guild, or would he have to join the Sith?
It seems to me like introducing a morality system into an MMO could add some shades of gray into the usual black-and-white of a faction system. That sounds like an interesting innovation to me, but it could be tricky to implement. Thoughts, anybody?
