[Mr. Deluxe]

Hi!

I was looking for advice on a fun party with good dialogue between NPCs.

I'm playing a Kensai to dual into a Thief at level 13.

Right now my party consists of:

Viconia (my Romance)
Jan
Cernd (I'm doing the Trademeet / Druid Grove quests).

Later I'll pick up Imoen and I left Jaheira and Minsc in Irenicus chateau (I pretended they werent there).

What are your suggestions?

Jan taking the mickey out of Anomen is hilarious. And with Minsc too, with regards to Boo. Hmm the Edwin/a thing is pretty good too, if you're playing a neutral to evil party.

Edwin likes to insult everyone, and Viconia is interesting with Aerie.

Minsc and Aerie Romance is cute.

Valygar i find lacks a personailty.

Jan is quite a character... then again gnomes are.

Anomen likes to banter - yet i find him annoying, goes on about kickign evil butt, but not in the minsc-esque way.

"Romane"? She's just his new witch, I can't imagine Minsc romancing Aerie... Oh my gods, BAD MENTAL IMAGE, BAD MENTAL IMAGE!

Anomen is good as someone others pick on. Always good to have a Butt Monkey in the group.

Korgan + Mazzy is something.

The evil party like Korgan + Edwin + Viconia AND Jan Jansen has some pretty thought out dialogues when they all talk with each other ("and somebody kick the gnome").

"And somebody kick the gnome"? You sir, have given me serious motivation to try that party combination next time!  Usually I leave Jan behind when taking those three along. In response to Mr. Deluxe: Viconia has an interesting banter with Haer'dalis. I only ever heard the one, though. She has more to say to Korgan, and has a few hilarious put downs for Edwin after a flirtatious conversation. Cernd is light on dialogue. The writers neglected him. :/ He has one with almost every character, but his most interesting stuff comes in Throne of Bhaal if you have Keldorn or Nalia in the party.

Valygar can break party and try to kill Viconia if you talk to a certain NPC in Athkatla. Otherwise their banter is a one-sided affair with Viccy mocking him. Jan is good with almost everyone. Did you get his banter with Viconia about milk loving golems? Hilarious.

I recently finish a playthrough with Nalia, Aerie, Jaheira, Imoen & Sarevok and Nalia has a lot to say to everyone in TOB. She wisens up a lot and basically only Sarevok is still able to rattle her cage.

I like Aerie and Viconia; Viconia often insults Aerie and normally Aerie will be pissed off like a child

I absolutely love Jan Jansen's banters, I often take him along just to enjoy them. Aerie has some interesting with many characters such as Minsk, Viconia and Haer'dalis. Imoen and Cernd are both pretty disappointing. If you want to have Imoen in your party after Spellhold, you should download the Imoen's Romance mod, it makes her come alive in a whole new way.

Alternatively to the still incomplete Imoen romance, there is now also an Imoen Friendship mod.

It just make me sad that Yoshimo's mod never got completed. My favorite character even for the short time you get him.



Anyway Edwin is a must for any neutral evil party. He give such a good laugh even by himself. The Edwina Arc is always hilarious no matter who he banter with.



I never tried Mazzy, cna anyone tell me a bit how's she like. I know she want to be a paladin but that's about it. Hoping she isnt mini-Saerilith.

She's righteous too of course, but she isn't as in-your-face about it. She'll voice her opinions, but more as a friend than as a superior being.

Mazzy is wonderful, by far the best written good aligned npc in the game, imo. She has nothing in common with that **** Saerilith. Have her in a party with Korgan. Korgan is obviously in love with her and you get some wonderful dialogue. For even more fun, add Jan Jansen to the mix.

Mazzy & Minsc have some nice interaction as well.

She also has the best shout if you give her a command: "One word about size and you can forget it!". Never gets old. Seeing her tear up fire giants & baalors is pretty funny as well.

Another really great thing about Mazzy is that, even though she is a lawful good character, she gets along with everyone, even the most evil of the evil ones - not starting any fights in the party etc.

She has great interactions with Valygar (Valygar + Mazzy is my favorite combination of fighter-type characters), too - trying to make him her squire. I would propably agree on calling her the best written good aligned NPC.

nice, anyway i was planning on getting korgan. But very later.

Already had started an all little ppl party in the no reload but i died ; / Trying to start it again but going trough bg1 will take a while at my rate XD

BG1 has so many little ppl and i even added Finch mod for more lulz.

Agreed, Mazzy is very often overlooked but she's one of my favourite BG2 companions. I loved the bit where she made Valygar her squire. For me it happened in the bit of planar sphere when you're looking for demon hearts and it was just totally surreal and hilarious.

Finch is indeed fun for banter in BG1! When my party entered the Nashkel mines, Minsc took her on his shoulder to make it easier for her. I can't remember her reply, but it was a funny dialogue between the two. I wish there was a BG2 mod of her as well.. much more likeable cleric than Anomen.
