Is there a valid/good reason to do a run with 2 Tanks or Sword and Board Warriors? Hell...3 Tanks?
What Specs would you give to each Warrior (Player and Alistair/Secret Companion)?
P.S. Can a Sword and Board Warrior do something else than tanking effectively/efficiently?
P.S.S. Is tanking on consoles hard for a player?

My canon run through was with a sword and board warrior and with Alistair as well. Worked fine, both builds were Champion/Templar (stacking Rally, hitting with War Cry and Holy Smite). Depending on how you play, it worked really well in the end game as Leliana as an archer was doing plenty of damage and Wynne as a healer/CC mage would support the boys as the carved through mobs and bosses alike.

I just played witha sword and board warrior (Templar/Champion) who didn't tank at all. It was TONS of fun to revel in the stuns/knockdowns/knockbacks that were flying around between the Warden and Alistair.
Did he do the kind of damage that a rogue or blood mage would? Of course not. But it was a lot of fun to play through the game with him, and it gave me an excuse for the Wardern to be wielding the Starfang.

"Is there a valid/good reason to do a run with 2 Tanks or Sword and Board Warriors? Hell...3 Tanks?"
Fun. I did an all-warrior runthrough, and it was great fun (and easier than I expected). I can see a 2/3 tank + Wynne party being a total breeze.
"What Specs would you give to each Warrior (Player and Alistair/Secret Companion)?"
Templar is good since Holy Smite eliminates enemy mages - the only enemy type which will cause tanks much trouble. As a second - probably Champion. It was pretty much made for tanks.
"P.S. Can a Sword and Board Warrior do something else than tanking effectively/efficiently?"
Meh, not particularly. But don't forget the merits of letting them plink away with bows and letting the enemy come to you and THEN breaking out the swords and boards.
"P.S.S. Is tanking on consoles hard for a player?"
Can't see why it should be. Tanking is pretty hands-off. In fact, I think that's it's greatest flaw - you don't really need to do anything. Just equip them, make sure their dexterity is high, and they pretty much take care of themselves in combat.
