You don't actually need to roll anything until you get the game. I would suggest not getting worked up about what someone does or doesn't sound like at this point.

If you have voiced player character then I would suggest who and how good the voice acting is is pretty damn paramount to one's enjoyment of the game.

For me.... maybe not sitting on pins and needles.  It's not like I can't sleep at night.  I do have to agree with how anxious octoberfire is.  I'm very excited to hear what she sounds like.  How she sounds could possibly influence how I create my character and play the game.  Also, if I don't like her voice, (not something I foresee) then it might interfere with my enjoyment of playing.  So, yeah... it's kinda important.

I know I'm excited to see her in action, even if only for a minute and she's doing nothing more than gesturing with her hand. I think she's gorgeous and looks ready to kick butt. I always loved being able to design my own character appearance but I'll definately be keeping her default appearance most of the time.



It's not very often we (and I mean we ladies) get the opportunity to play such an important role in a game. I just want to learn something about her, period.

We've heard clips of male Hawke- is it sooo hard to let us hear a bit of the female PC? I mean, I'm grateful we finally got to see her in-game. But since the male PC is in all the trailers and clips, throw us a bone, eh?

I'm not getting worked up about what someone "does or doesn't sound like", i'm kinda getting worked up at the fact that we have yet to hear a single thing from FemHawke herself. I just wanna hear her voice Mr. Gaider. My bad if I sound impatient.

Certainly the strong performances of Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale have a lot to do with my enjoyment of playing as each. If one of those was sub-standard it would ruin that gender choice for me.

What about the people who played at the Comic-Con? I'm sure they heard her voice, and I kinda did on a gameplay video, but there was Queen playing in the background, so I could barely hear it.. heh.. from what I think I heard, its a nice voice! >

as long as its not the "violent" version from DAO I'm happy.. i had to abort that playthrough just for the voice and comments when i pressed command buttons lol

Actually I think The devs did it on purpose to drive us comnpletely insane as some kind of revenge plot they will never admit to.

Well, I wouldn't say sitting on pins and needles, but it is exciting. I'd also say it does play a part in the enjoyment of a game, too- you can have an amazing script, but you need a good actor or voice actress to portray it right. BioWare's picks of vocal talent have always been pretty stellar, though, so I'm not worried about it being bad. I'm just curious

I would say that Meer excels at Renegade Shepard.
Hale is better with emotional inflection so I think she's better for
Paragon Shepard. Meer just sounds like he's having so much fun as
mean/funny Shepard and I love it. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie] (that vid makes me laugh every time - it helps that it's really well edited, too)

For me, Shepard only works as a renegade, male or female.  Otherwise the deadpan delivery feels false besides being boring as hell, whereas deadpan on the renegade stuff is pretty funny.  I'm sure the same could affect my Hawke character.
