Not too many more days to go, even if we don't see anything. Just hang on, everyone. Torturing us gets old after a while, right? :/

Stupid question. xD

Why do I get the feeling that if we do get to hear FemHawke before Feb 1st, that it'll be at 23:59 on Monday :x

Certainly the strong performances of Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale have a lot to do with my enjoyment of playing as each. If one of those was sub-standard it would ruin that gender choice for me.

I still think Jennifer Hale's performance was better than Mark Meer's he sounded too 'canadian' for me

I would say that Meer excels at Renegade Shepard.
Hale is better with emotional inflection so I think she's better for
Paragon Shepard. Meer just sounds like he's having so much fun as
mean/funny Shepard and I love it. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie] (that vid makes me laugh every time - it helps that it's really well edited, too)

having played the Paragon male Shepard I did find his voice a bit lacking

And our very own Steven Blum (aka Oghren) is playing the protagonist. Hale is the female companion. I'm personally picking up the game to hear them swear

Dun dun dun :innocent:

Now... let us get back on topic:

There are only a few days left until the 1st of Feb. And Mr. Laidlaw said if we were good, we would hear the great FemHawke speak :)

We'll get to see and hear her soon I think    :)   I'm counting on next week. I guess that for me it's not as much as a "I must hear her soon" as " it would really be fun to hear her voice". Surfing around here is my way of getting prepped and happy for the game. That said I still have to leave the forums pretty soon. Played a elf for my first warden and romanced Alistair. Happened upon info about  Alistair breaking up if he is made king. That made me go several saves back in order to get the game I wanted which was very well. But when I've done new wardens it just isn't as fun when you know all the different outcomes before hand. Hope that we get some F!Hawke! before I logg off

I'm curious why they won't share the VA so close to release. Would it really ruin anything or hurt sales or whatever if we heard even a line of Marian Hawke's voice?

Because BW, (DG in particular) enjoy making us suffer? :P:innocent:

Because they have and wield puissance? Because they have some uber female VA that they want to use for the final marketing push?

At this point, any new info is going to be a treat, it feels like a long drought......(despite the new blog info which was great for the lore fiends but, otherwise, to be brutally honest -->-_-)

Considering Mike Laidlaw said he wanted us to be able to hear her, it sounds like it's something out of his control, whether it's that marketing wants the iconic image of Hawke to be all Garrett all the time or whatever.

Or maybe no one outside this board is interested.  Image IPB

I still say the actress who did Alfstanna's voice would be PERFECT for Female Hawke.

The perfect balance of strength and femininity.

Isn't Steve Valentine scottish?

He is, and isn't Claudia Black Australian?

Claudia Black is Australian, and Steve Valentine's accent is authentic. The voices you hear from them are their natural speaking voices. That doesn't really seem to deter some folks from deciding that they (or anyone else) aren't authentic, somehow.

Would I be wrong in thinking Aveline has an Australia accent/ VA?

I thought it sounded like a very neutral British accent......but you never know, right?

The way she says 'eye' sounds quite Australian to me (I'm from Australia).

I actually liked Miranda's accent in me2 so here's to hoping Aveline has one as well
