Now, I'd like to clarify that the suggestion I am about to state is not how I personally feel, but is rather, a theory.

So, obviously, Dragon Age: Origins featured six different origins, and we saw an even split of the genders. Good, right? Mass Effect almost never showed off Female Shepard in the trailers. Obviously, you could find it, but unlike the ambiguous covers of the previous games, you rather definitively saw the face of "John Shepard" as opposed to that of "Jane Shepard".

I think what we're seeing from the Marketing Team is one of consistency rather than a disdain for Female Hawke or misogyny. As we've clearly seen on the website and the boxes of Dragon Age 2, they all feature Garrett Hawke. I suspect it might be focused on maintaining an image of what the "real" Hawke is meant to look like to the mainstream media, without confusing anyone.

Again, not saying I agree with this, nor am I saying this is the actual reason. Just a theory.

Eh. I thought Hale was ok. But an English accent will make femHawke 100% cooler just by showing up.

Hale did Bastila, with an English accent... :P

Hale is also a lot more versatile then what her work as Shepard implies, she can pull off almost any voice. So the shoes to fill in for the new actress is kinda big. Hopefully it's good stuff.

How is "hi, you can also be a girl" going to be confusing to anyone though?

Obviously, if you have trouble keeping up with such a sentence, chances are you are pretty slow, yes. However, let's think for a moment how commercials work, if we just stopped for a moment with a voice over saying, "By the way, here's the other character." it would be a bit of a throw off, and kill the mood. Similarly, if we actually did just cut to different actions scenes of the two, briefly speaking, then it would indeed be confusing who was who. Even then, we've hardly clips of any dialogue for that matter.

I confess, as I've been typing this, my mind has rolled about considering what might make a good commericial introducing both of them appropriately, and I feel like I came up with a couple good ones actually, but that's something entirely different.

Hale can do a range of accents really superbly.  I have no doubt she could have pulled off Lady Hawke to an amazing degree, but I can understand why Bioware didn't select her because of the association with femshep;  Or maybe because of Bastila.  Or maybe Bioware did choose her but she was tied up with another project and couldn't do it. ;)

She is (English, I mean). She sounds good. I like her better than Male Hawke, but that's just my personal preference. I'm sure you'll hear her soon enough.

Either way David done more then enough to keep my interest and imagination running wild!!   But its been doing that since I heard she was a voiced actor in the first place!! :P

No, I don't see it either, though both had dark hair, bangs and light colored eyes.

They way to do it would be in a character creation video and a fair number of people suspect that is how she will be introduced.

Origins faces all looked a bit similar, and I suspect same counts for DA. Compare it to Leliana and you find a couple of similarities as well.

Wow.  It looks worse on FemHawke then on Hawke.

I didn't think it would be possible.  Posted Image

I would have thought showing Fem Hawke would have helped sales by giving the player a choice of character .
Hearing her would help even more  that is one of the selling points " your hero now can talk "

Yes that was my first thought when I saw this pic: Oh look it's Morrigan with blue eyes. But maybe it's because of the reddish jacket...

I'm dying to play with the character creator now..

Apparently, BioWare doesn't even want to showcase what they keep advertising.

Reporter: It's Awesome. You'll love it!
