Lady Hawke Voice Acting?

Of course I've always wondered if there are female VA's who aren't cropping up in the IMDB search (having only voiced really small roles or something) seeing as how 90% of the list we came up with were American or Canadian and Bioware made a point of trying to get Brits in Origins too. I did exclude some Brits from my list/search due to their age though I think.

The vast majority of Scots aren't gaelic. And 'many folks' would probably have no idea what a gaelic is, maybe mistaking it for being Celtic or having something to do with the Gauls.Estelindis wrote...
Or, you know, when they got the kind of depth that put them beyond the clichéd ideas so many folks have of gaelic peoples? (Being Irish, I know a lot about the latter.)Maria Caliban wrote...

I liked the accents in DA:O... I found the use of American accents for dwarves particularly refreshing - I think it just fit in better with their cultural vibe than a Scottish one would've.
Yep, when dwarves went from being honorable warriors and smiths to manipulative, fratricidal bastards, the American accent just fit them better.

My dear, many Scots aren't celtic either. I am using the term gaelic to refer to our language grouping, not our ethnic grouping. The Irish gaelic language shares a huge amount with Scots gaelic, which reflects many aspects of shared culture. But this is really off-topic.Maria Caliban wrote...

And most Scots aren't Gauls either. My point is that there isn't much of a stereotype for 'gaelic' because the average person wouldn't know what that term meant.
Of course you're not referring to ethnicity.
From wikipedia:
The 2001 UK Census showed that a total of 58,652 (1.2% of the Scottish population aged over three years old)[7] in Scotland had some Gaelic ability at that time,[2] with the Outer Hebrides being the main stronghold of the language. The census results indicate a decline of 7,300 Gaelic speakers from 1991. Despite this decline, revival efforts exist and the number of younger speakers of the language has increased.[8]
That makes about 1.2% of the Scottish population gaelic.

Back to the thread topic methinks...
I've actually wondered if we'll see a race or people with Eastern European or Russian accents and what type of people they'd be? A female VA in that accent would be brilliant.

So femHawke was in ME? Hm, I don't recall many English-accented characters from ME except for Claudia Black and the VA for Dr. Chakwas. Though I suppose the VA could have done an American accent for whatever role, or like you said they're unlisted.Apollo Starflare wrote...
Alix Wilton Regan who voiced Mhairi and Cauthrien is British as well and it would be kinda brilliant to see her go from 'the character who everyone wished was recruitable (properly)' to the female lead. However according to IMDB she wasn't in ME which doesn't jive with what DG hinted at.

As to the accents in Dragon Age: Origins, Tim Curry and Simon Templeman aside of course, I noticed that a lot of the British accents were fake, particularly the player soundsets where it was painfully obvious.
Sorry, but that's simply untrue. Considering the expense we went to in order to record in the UK, it's also kind of sad. Perhaps we needn't have bothered.
Please ignore these people, as they are a misinformed vocal minority of a vocal minority. Continue to spare all the expenses and get the fine voice actors that you do, because they make the millions of people that play your games very happy.

You do realize this is just one person's opinion?
One that we hear quite frequently. It's not an uncommon opinion that DAO is a game filled with fake British accents galore. God help us should we ever go to Orlais and fill our game with so many ear-splittingly fake French accents.
Agreed. Everyone needs to stop questioning the British street cred of Yuri Loenthal.

Are you seriously sitting on pins and needles waiting just to hear her voice? It's that vital?

Yes. It is actually. I don't plan on rolling male Hawke unless he's the only way of romancing Aveline, IF, by some miracle she is even a potential LI. We just want to hear from her already.
