I cant get my DLC contents. Its is unauthorized, wtf? The DLCs are under my "registered game promotions".

So, i first bought the game on amazon download. Played it for a few weeks and i decided to buy Awakening. I bought the Ultimate Edition on Steam, yesterday. I put the promocode that came for the Ultimate Edition into this account. Now when i look under the DLC, it say unauthorized. Ive been looking around the forum and solved some issues (the Dragon Age: Origins Updater was missing.) but the DLC contents are still unauthorized. Please help, it shouldnt be this hard to get something you paid for.

Almost anything you needed to know was already right here on this page, really. Pinned on top:

And recently updated:

In both cases you need what is nearest to the top in each of those.

I understand your frustration.  Based on your comments, can I assume you did not install the old game first? You may experience an issue if you installed Ultimate Edition without first completely uninstalling the original version of the game.  Many, many others have done the same.

If you need to back up character data, go to the folder under your user name in windows called My Documents > Bioware > Dragon Age > Characters and copy it to a safe location.  Then uninstall the game.  Restart, and reinstall Ultimate Edition.

There may be further steps.  In addition to the links Gorath provided, some successful fixes can be found at:

http://social.biowar...8/index/5755406

Good luck, and let us know if it works!

I am having the same issue. I can log in with the account that has the DLC authorized here and see that it is authorized as well as download the content but when it comes to logging in the game with the exact same details it tells me i am not authorized.

I have jumped through every loop. read this and tell me i have not tried to do MORE THAN ENOUGH to get this game to work.

Thsi game is bugged to hell and they do not give a hoot about people that have bought this game and cant get it to work....

At the bottom of what i have tried i will post the "tech support emails" to show that they are not only NOT reading them but just posting standard preformed responses designed to make you go away and try stuff that you most likely have tried already.

I feel your pain. I am going through it myself. One thing is for sure and that is that i wont be buying any more EA/Bio games at all. Never again. No way in hell am i supporting this crap.

I have screenshots of the game saying i am logged out but my email address under the logged in part as if i am logged in.

Here is what i tried so dont feel bad if you cant get the game to work....

Turned off virus and firewall during install. exited completely and left my machine open like an idiot to get this game to work

ran installer as admin even

verified DAUpdater is in correct path in registry

Started, ended and re-started DAUP service prior to trying to log in

verified account status and password by logging into social.bio so that means that the log in details which the game says are not correct are indeed correct and the game is giving me an error instead by pointing me to customer support

verified that i have access to DLC sine i am able to download the content

set everything individually to run as admin

uninstalled updater service and re-installed it then started it prior to log in attempt.

Tried to log in with no firewall at all and still nothing

added exception with the config just in case

I have tried this with WIN7 and XP....... this is the forth install time

Either i am submitting the wrong account details or there is seriously something wrong with this game. I can run the stand alone DAO just fine with no issues at all. I uninstalled vanilla DAO, cleaned registry of all traces prior to installing Ultimate

The game keeps telling me to log in but when i click on Options after i submitted log in details and have been denied i see my log in email address like it is when i am logged in but above that it says LOGGED OUT.

AS in ....inside the options screen it says LOGGED OUT on the lower left but under that i get my email address i used to sign in with but that is the one that gets refused authentication. It's almost like i am logged in but my computer does not recognize it nor has it been authorized to be logged in yet for DLC purposes.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us again regarding your Dragon Age: Origins purchase. It is always a pleasure to assist our customers in any way that we can.

I'm sorry to hear you are still experiencing difficulties, and apologize for any inconvenience. To resolve your issue you need to follow the below given steps:

1. Please check for the Dragon Age updater service. You can access it using Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services. (Another method is to click on the start menu, write "services" in the search box)

2. You find the service there, right click on it, choose properties. "Start" the service if it is not started. Then set the startup type to "automatic".

3. Do not start the game using Steam. Instead navigate to the "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship" directory. You see the file DAOrigins. Right click on it, choose "Run as Administrator".

4. Go to downloadable content menu, dlcs are being downloaded there.

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know. Additional support can be found on our help site located at http://dragonage.bioware.com/.

Sincerely,

Vincent

Response (Vincent) 01/22/2011 01:49 PM

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your Dragon Age: Origins purchase. It is always a pleasure to assist our customers in any way that we can.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are facing with Dragon Age: Origins download content. This happens when an account which does have access to these items downloads them at any point, and another account logs in (which does not have these entitlements. http://help.dragonag...etail/a_id/218/).

If you are logged into the same account, then in order to resolve your issue you need to follow the below given steps:

- Shut down Dragon Age: Origins

- In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'

- In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder

- Navigate to 'C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\All Users\\\\Application Data\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

- Navigate to 'C:\\\\My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: Origins and log in

For Windows Vista/Windows 7 - C:\\Users\\All Users\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\

- Navigate to 'C:\\My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in

This does not impact saved games. This only deletes all DLC from the system so you may download the content again.

However, as you are playing Dragon Age: Origins on the PC, please refer to this FAQ and perhaps it will apply to your situation:

http://help.dragonag...etail/a_id/2247

If you have not yet patched the game to the latest version, then we would advise you to download and run the latest patch for the game. You can find the information about the game patches at the below given link: -

http://help.eastore..../detail/a_id/36

Once you have patched the game, try and run the game and see if the issue is resolved. If the issue continues, then we would suggest you to uninstall and re-install the game.

To un-install the game, re-start the game and from the Game Launcher, click on the Uninstall button. You will be asked to confirm the un-installation of the game, click "Yes". Make sure that on the next screen before clicking "Next", you check the "Keep Save Games" check box, if you don't wish to lose your game progress.

Once you have uninstalled the game completely, re-install the game and see if the issue still persists. However, unauthorized content is a common problem, usually caused the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater service not starting automatically.

Try manually starting the service, before you start the game, to see if this resolves your issues.

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

If the problem still persists, then please simply run the game in admin mode.

If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know. Additional support can be found on our help site located at http://dragonage.bioware.com/.

Sincerely,

Vincent

Cant log into game to access paid for content that came with Ultimate Edition. Even though when i click on options i can see my log in email address where it would normally go under the LOGGED IN button that now says LOGGED OUT. Yeah, figure that one out.

In the game the content is enabled BUT not authorized. I jumped through your hoops and with the amount of requests for this issue i assume it has absolutely nothing to do with anything i have done.

All i did was to install the game, create and account and redeem BOTH the game and the DLC with TWO codes. Two separate codes. I verified this within my game profile that i indeed have been granted access to the DLC.

I was even dumb enough to give you game some time and log in at different times. Yeah, i know. I must be stupid to expect that text to be true. Do you know what a pain in the ass it is to keep logging in with your credentials?

Never had I had this much trouble trying to get a game to work. I know for a fact that DA:O works on my system since i uninstalled it to get the ULTIMATE installed. When i installed Ultimate i created a whole new account and email address to be able to log into. This was to keep any issues with compat with the OLD DA:O account a separate issue.

I am not a happy camper at all. I had issues with DA:O and it not letting me play authorized content and completely locked me out of my game. I could not even play the game i bought for.

All i can say is that you people better fix this for me or there will not be any more of my money coming this way.

I did everything by the book.

What ports would need to be open IF they were blocked? My firewall did allow the game but now i need to know what ports you are using in case my firewall is blocking additional undocumented ports.

This game has been a joke from the start with all its problems. These log in and authentication problems have plagued this game from the start and is nothing new. DA:O had massive issues with DLC so it does not surprise me that this steaming pile of crap called ULTIMATE also has its problems.

Any and all attempts by their staff to get you to try stuff when your game is not working is to make it look like you are the one not doing things right.

I have tried my best to get it to work. I jumped through all of their hoops. I have contacted tech support for help and all i get is bizzlenitch slapped with stupid run of the mill i am sure you must have tried this but i will give it to you anyway so it looks like we care crap solutions.

For any game to require you to jump through that many hoops to get it to work and then stil not work is a fecking disgrace.

THSI IS MY LAST RANT. I am not going to help you make your game better because it is crap. I am not going to email you any more... i have a much simpler solution to solve my headache....

I WONT BUY YOUR PRODUCTS AND TELL EVERYONE TO STAY A THOUSANDS MILES AWAY FROM YOUR COMPANY.

You'd think you'd do the easy thing and use the links provided to find a simple fix for the problems you are having. But instead you plague the forum since yesterday with abuse. If you don't want to purchase Bioware games don't. But then stop coming on the forum to hurl abuse because you are too stupid to figure out how to find a fix for a game and read them instead of sitting there writing nonsense. If you put as much effort into working out the problems you are having as you do ****ing you'd be playing the game right now.

~And if the game is crap don't buy it. Simple.

Read through that list that i wrote and tell me that this is not what is on that list of things to try and stop being such a smart mouth little kid.

If you spent half as much time focusing on actually reading things and thinking before you shot off your mouth you might actually learn a few things in life.

And the game is still crap and i still wont be buying another EA BIO game.

Now go away child since you have contributed nothing to this thread other than insults. I at least have provided documentation of what i have tried. What have you done?

Don't you have a fake lawyer to speak to about a class action suit? Or is your protest to simply whine on here and insult anyone who does not agree with you?

Considering the nonsense you have posted i wouldn't be calling anyone "little kid" if i were you. Go bug your lawyer and stop attention seeking on here.

It has been pointed out to you SEVERAL TIMES where to find a fix for your problem. You refuse and instead have resorting to trolling the boards making idle threats.

I cant get my DLC contents. Its is unauthorized, wtf? The DLCs are under my "registered game promotions".

Badang,

Sorry your post got hijacked for a while.  I am curious-- have you uncovered a solution yet?

Badang, I found my problem was related to the dragon age origins updater service, make sure that is running when you start the game and you should be fine.

Magnag, your problem is related to logging in. Until you are logged in your updater service or any of those other fixes for unauthorised content aren't going to work.

Yes, you can be "logged in" (read: email address in the corner) and have it say: Logged out.

This is so you can play offline. But you have to be logged in (where it says logged in AND has your email address listed) at least once to authorize the content.

Hey guys, just updating. I got the game to work with all my DLC. Thank you for those that helped.

I uninstalled both game and installed the Ultimate Version only. Sadly i didnt save all of my data, but i only lost like 20 hrs of gameplay. And i think the problem was with the updater, i have to manually start it. Again, thank you for all your help. Posted Image
