 I just started playing ME2, finished ME1 again so I could remember everything (my old savegame also was on 360, and I bought ME2 for the PC).

I'm loving it. ME2 is fantastic. I've also read a lot about all the Shooter/RPG controversy and, aside from the fact I'm coming about a year late, here is my take on it.

ME1 catered mostly RPG/Adventure fans. ME2 is siding more with the Action/Adventure fans in order to expand their market reach, the next logical move would be to make ME3 combine the amazing Action elements from ME2 with the (more or less) deepness of ME1 to make everybody happy.
This way, future games from BioWare will be expected by a larger demographic than if they would always stick to the more RPG-ish "steep" elements.

Just a thought. Not my intention to trash the series, like I said, I'm loving ME2. :innocent:
