Hey all. Im replaying Origins and I was wondering what would be the right thing to do with this choice, My Warden is mainly a Paragon / Good person.
What did you guys do when you had to make this descision and does it effect anything other then the epilogue?
Did you kill Marjolaine?

I normally had her killed because I felt she would continue to come after Leliana no matter what, even when Leliana went to great lengths to start over again. (You get the idea.) After playing Leliana's Song, I will always kill her because she was responsible for the death of one of my favorite characters in the DLC.

I played a Paragon/Good person and I've never spared Marjolaine.
Marjolaine will only harass Leliana further if she's allowed to live. Eventually, she may succeed in killing her.

I always kill her. She seems completely irredeemable, and I didn't believe that she would leave Leliana alone. I play good characters, too, and this gave me no qualms, unlike some of the other choices in the game.

I killed her. I worried killing her might change Leliana, but I worried more that if I didn't kill her, then I'd see some endgame bit about how Marjolaine eventually succeeded in assassinating her. Since Leliana was my romantic interest, I couldn't take that risk.

Always, always kill her. There's simply no way that woman would just walk away and leave Leli alone. As errant said, she's one of those characters that I honestly find irredeemable (like Howe) and for whom I feel zero remorse for killing.

I let her live once, just to see what would happen. I told her to take a hike and if she ever threatened Leliana again I'd rip her friggin' head off (or something to that effect). To be honest, I didn't notice any difference other than Leliana doesn't get all guilt trippy afterward. She still says she's "free" from Marjolaine.

The main difference if Marjolaine is alive, is that Leli will attempt to chase her off to finish the issue between them IF she's hardened. Unhardened Leliana will pretty much just forget about her.

I also didn't like the vibe I got off Marjolaine in terms of leaving Leliana alone. I killed her.

I always kill her for her noble outfit.

Heh, he's playing a good character, pretty sure clothes aren't a factor in his decision.OnionXI wrote...

In the words of Alistair...what are you waiting for? Just kill her already!!!
Marjolaine is a crazed psycho stalker. She makes it very clear she has no intention of ever letting Leliana have peace. To my mind, it's clearly self defense.
If you do let Marjolaine go, then Leliana will go back to Orlais on her own to find Marjolaine at the end of the game (provided she's not in love with the warden). It's much better, I think, to have the confrontation sooner rather than later with the Warden & co. there to watch her back.

My canon Warden doesn't encourage Leliana to kill Marjolaine, but wouldn't have stopped her if she'd decided to do it herself. So Leliana ends up chasing Marjolaine after the end of the game in that playthrough.

I've only played though once and I played as a Good Warden. I killed her for a lot of the same reasons other posters have already stated..she's irredeemable and a threat to Leliana...seems she's not even really playing "The Game" anymore she's just out of control.
"Leliana's Song" was my favorite of the DLC, by the way...loved the "Quentin Tarantino" Splash images when characters were introduced!

Killed her on all but one play through.
Honestly it seems monumentally stupid to leave a threat like her alive.

No, both because I don't like killing and because that fight is annoying.

I beat her on nightmare on level 8 so you obviously don't know how to fight. P.S. The posters all made valid reasons for why you SHOULD kill her. Enjoy having Leliana be harassed jerk

Killed her; I saw it as protecting Leliana and the Warden's party.

I always kill her for the same reason I kill certain other characters, the woman is a rabid animal that's a threat to a dear friend of my character.
Of course my Warden tries to be good, but doesn't see herself as such if that makes any sense.

I always have problems with killing her. Mostly because your forcing her to kill someone who was very dear to her once and who she looks on the memories of fondly. Though she says she feels satisfied with killing her I don't know how she really feels about it deep down. Mostly because she already failed to kill her once when she had the chance.
