I always kill her. Never mind what she did to Leliana, which is despicable - an Orlesian bard living in the heart of Denerim is a threat to national security.

Oh Maker, yes. She's more tolerable in Leliana's Song, but I absolutely cannot stand the sound of her voice in Origins.

Yes, but in Origins, her voice was grating. In Leliana's Song, she sounded more demure.

A woman sounding demure is good, not sounding demure is grating? Hmm... I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.... *lalalalalala*

That ain't what I said.

Look, I'm not sure how to explain it. But Marjolaine in Origins=grating, Marjolaine in Leliana's Song=not grating. Maybe it was a different tone of voice or an attempt to sound seductive, but whatever it was, that voice actress hit her stride in the DLC.

I think she was a little prettier as well.

That's probably the best reason yet I've seen here to kill her.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Part of the problem was that she clearly isn't a native french speaker, I think, and she must have worked on the accent. It was marginally better in the DLC. Not quite sure why they used an actress who didn't speak french when Canada is chock full of French Canadians. Well, okay, not Edmonton, but they could have made a phone call. ;)

Marjolaines voice actress doesn't even speak French! And her accent is way too thick sounding and annoying. Lelianas voice is totally better, at least she sounds like she actually knows how to speak both English and French fluently!

I agree though it was less annoying in LS when they added alot more emotion to it and actually made her sound like a sane person. In Origins she just sounds like a crazy paranoid Frenchie.

Well, there is a difference in dialects between Quebecois and the French, but never mind.

Ah, perhaps so.

I did not kill her. And I get the feeling I'm in the very small minority here, which somewhat surprises me. Simply put, my good HN warden didn't want to kill people if it was avoidable - even if they have done bad things and perhaps deserve to be punished.

Although I will try it on my current second playthrough.

I kill her because Lel wouldn't be free of her if she wasn't dead.

Yeah but even though she says she was glad to see her dead, she seems to show regret and upset. I dont want to really be resposible for killing the woman she loved, it seems sort of like the renegade path a bit to me

Eventually Leliana will have to kill her -- she mentions it post coronation if Marjolaine is still alive if she's not in love with the warden. Hardened or no.

Leliana: You should know... I'm thinking of going back to Orlais for a while. To find Marjolaine. I don't know how long I'll be gone. (Marjolaine is an old foe, and this is something she just has to do)

If you do kill Marjolaine, she actually does move on.

If hardened: I've been offered a position... to head up an investigation into the darkspawn. It's quite exciting, really.
if not: I've been asked by the Chantry to return to the Urn of Sacred Ashes. I need to make sure it's protected. Maybe pilgrims can even begin going there again.

Yes. No ifs, no buts, no question. It isn't even about Leliana, but simply about the fact that Marjolaine is a mass-murderer and torturer without a lick of conscience or empathy, a professional deceiver whom you could never trust even if she promised to shape up. Getting closure for Leliana is a nice bonus. And the point made about the dangers of an Orlesian bard in Denerim is a good one too (my Warden is a Cousland and a patriot).

I end up killing her in most playthroughs. She's too much of a loose end, whether to Leliana who's my LI in most playthroughs or the party. She had the chance to leave Leliana alone once and didn't take it, and there was every indication that she was going to continue being stalkerish. So, yeah. Bye bye.

Pretty sure Ive killed her in all my playthroughs, even if some of my wardens didnt much care for Leliana last thing they need is some paranoid Orlesian bard complicating things further ^_^

I thought Bryce Cousland cracked a joke about how bad Orleasians smell in the Human Noble origin. Guess that makes Marjolaine a hypocrite.

I think what XxDeonxX meant was that Leliana seems pretty reluctant to kill Marjolaine. Both in LS she refuses to kill her at the end of the DLC and then in Origins she almost lets her walk out with nothing more than a slap on the wrist (Even though she just try to kill her and her friends.)

It seems like Leliana really doesn't want to kill her former lover. But when she put her and her friends in danger she just couldn't let it continue anymore.

I would also say the same for Majolaine of course. Marjolaine should've been able to kill Leliana fairly easily herself. But nope everytime she tries to get someone else to do it. Even in the two years she spent spying on Leliana in Lothering, she couldn't of just slit her throat in her sleep?

It seems like the warden is the only one who can get them to finally settle the score face to face instead of just going "Okay lets just kill one another some other time"
