So What Origin was your favourite - Not just the Origin introduction story but I mean the whole thing from the games start to finish. And i guess a similar question that ties into this What is your favourite race to play as?

And Which will you import into dragon age 2?

For me: Either Human Noble or Dwarf Noble. Still deciding

Probably Human Noble... it may be a bit cliche bit I felt like that origin was the most incorporated in the whole story. Also, I like to play mages the most, so maybe the magi origin again as human. I can't force myself to play as other race, although I am rolling a Citry Elf rogue (female) and I am quite liking it but it you don't get many chance to really feel as an elf and not many confrontation with human about that. Sometimes I forget I am an elf, since my hair covers my ears :)

I haven't played all of them so far, but yeah I agree human noble is probably the most integrated into the whole story- probably the female for the Alistair romance and endgame decision. I like the city elf female one though, works quite well on its own as a little story. Magi is meh.

Don't listen to heretics like HolyAvenger. Mages rule. ;-)
I find both the origin and general gameplay of the mage to be most satisfactory for me.
However, the origin that touched/upset me the most is without doubt the City Elf (as a female).

Main Reason I seem to like the Dwarf Noble story the most is because you can have a son and get him into a selection of noble houses.. Your legacy will live on it has that sort of feeling. Theres a reason for having so much sway in the landsmeet because you are trained in politics. Non-noble origins feel out of place in the landsmeet questline.

I know you can have a son with morrigan but I mean with its soul taken over by the Archdemon it doesn't really feel as if its yours. and Half Dwarf Baby would be to weird for me.

I've only played through DA once (so far...playing through ME1&2 again at the moment) and I chose a Dwarf Commoner. I really liked the choice, especially when it came time to pick a King in Orzamaar...planning on an Elven Mage for my next playthough...I imagine they are all poretty good, though.

Yeah all are good, but in my opinion Dalish was lacking a fair bit. I mean the Start of it was good but nothing really happens after that

As far as I've heard, you don't actually import anything related directly to your character, but events that you triggered in Origins (probably political decisions, etc.). So (no spoliers!) for example, If you helped one party and killed another, this will carry over to DA2. Amiright?

I'm split between two of them.

I loved the human noble origin, it seemed to be tied into the main plot more than the others, plus it's been my most satisfying playthrough so far.

The other is human mage. Arcane warrior is a blast to play.

I'll probably be importing both for different Hawkes, if that's possible. I'm most looking forward to the human mage import though, since that origin might well be tied to Hawke's family history. Hawke's mother's maiden name is Amell, the same as the human mage's surname, which means Hawke and the human mage warden may well be half-siblings or cousins or something. It would be quite cool to see DA1 and DA2 as the story of the rise of the Amell family.

I like the Human Noble and Dwarf Noble. Also I’m planning on importing my Human Noble because he has all of my choices that I like.

You're going to be in for a BIG disappointment.

Human Noble.

Out of all of them, that easily my favorite.

For me its a toss-up between Human Noble and City Elf, probably just leaning towards HN because it just integrates better with the story overall.

Its pretty obvious that the game was designed with that as the default origin, and it shows in the way the other origins feel a bit ''tacked-on'' to the main Blight/Throne-of-Ferelden storyline.

Is it possible to do the landsmeet questline and then go get the dwarves as allies? Because if it is then I definitly would pick Dwarf Noble.. Otherwise HN because going back home to orzamaar and helping out your people seems minor compaired to the landsmeet especially if you go to the landsmeet afterwards

No, you need to have the Dwarven allies before you can do the landsmeet.

errant_knight, thanks for the reply. It would be funny if you could at some point in DA2 see a statue of the "Archdemon Slayer" (actually looking like your character in DA:O)...

I will import my human noble because that's my main character, not just because of the origin.

As some others have also said, I liked how the hn origin tied into the main story.  There were many instances where npcs recognized my hn as a Cousland and addressed him as "my lord" or something similar.  I especially liked playing as a human noble during the landsmeet and speaking to the nobles in the gnawled noble tavern.  Then there's the added bonus of being able to become king/queen consort to Alistair or Anora if desired.

I also liked both dwarven origins.  The dwarf noble had a good plot to it, and I liked playing as a thug as a dwarf commoner.  Killing people doesn't feel as bad when your character has made a living out of it.

The mage origin was ok, but nothing special.

I have yet to play a dalish or city elf warden.

One word why DN is the best: Threesome.. Lol
I only just discovered it when playing through the DN origin again today. I normally say "These women offend me Gorim" and have em sent away

Probably the Elf Mage Origin -

first and foremost, I love playing as an elf as they're by far my favorite race in the game. Secondly, mages are quite powerful in combat and I prefer them over a warrior type. I also like the fact that this is pretty much the most hated mix by society ( mage + elf = bad ) Not to mention that I adored the origins storyline. I liked Jowan, he's my favorite companion in the origins story, especially later it gets more interesting. Overall, mages can have a great impact on a few things afterwards ( even in Awakening in some conversations )

However, I also liked the City Elf origin as a rogue ( only the male one, though )

I found it pretty interesting to see how something that was once hated becomes something that is respected. Plus, rogues are a class I can bear with - opening locks and the like is pretty useful. I also liked that you got a pretty good insight on how abusive humans really are towards elves - you never get it as much if you never played the city elf origin. So yeah.

I'm still rooting for Elf Mage though :P

Human noble *is* tied to the story more, but despite that Dwarf Noble was my favorite origin story.

Elven was the race I was most comfortable being. If there had been a human commoner story, perhaps that one but as there wasn't, moot point :)

Well there will be sort of, come DAII so at least we finally got one lol.

There actually was originally a Human Commoner story that was going to be in the game, you can find traces of it in Origins still as alot was already implented. He was from Redcliffe and was a farmer or something. Idk why they removed it

There was also a Human Barbarian one as well

I think I am going to be importing my Human Noble story. I am also planning to do a playthrough where my character is a complete jerk. Almost borderline evil.

For me, Dwarf Noble was my fav. I just liked the story, and the first time I beat the game I was a Dwarf Noble. Then I like human noble, and then elf mage, cause I like having all that power. I think I might make a human mage soon...

I will import all of them depending on how many Hawkes I make. Each one has a different ending for me.

I truly enjoy the Dwarf Noble origin story.  It's a delicious story.  I did not want it to end.  However, the dalish elf is my favorite.  I love what they represent: freedom to be oneself and live life your way. Posted Image
