I truly enjoy the Dwarf Noble origin story.  It's a delicious story.  I did not want it to end.  However, the dalish elf is my favorite.  I love what they represent: freedom to be oneself and live life your way. Posted Image

Exactly!  Both the reason and way I like it too.  <3  *high five*

I'll be importing my fave, City Elf Rogue and probably my Suranna bloodmage/arcane warrior.

For the City elf, I loved starting in Denerim, returning to Denerim and ending in Denerim. More of a circle that way. The humbler origins (elf and dwarf commoner) appeal more to me.

My 'main' playthrough is my Human Noble Rogue, and one I think that fits best with the overall storyline. It did a great job of making you truly care about your family and Iona within the very short time you get to know them. (My wife loved this one purely because she gets to invite Duncan back to her room. Hysterical)

Though My favorite origin beyond all else is the City Elf Female. Something about cutting a bloody path to Vaughn in your bridal gown is just so great on every level. Its the only time (other than RTO) that I purposely turn persistent gore on. It's needed for maximum effect when you burst in on Vaughn and save Shianni.

Dwarf Noble is my third favorite origin story. If for no other reason than the way you can speak through Gorim. Just so funny.

I'll be importing my female Elf Magi cause I made an Arcane Warrior that was OP'd, however out of fav origin stories would either be Dwarf Noble or Dalish Elf.

I definitely love the either of the dwarves and the humans. I only wish that you had a choice beside human royalty or a mage. Mostly because magic non-melee types I cant work with.

For the entire game, I prefer Human Noble. As for the origin, my favorite is the CIty Elf.

I still wonder why so many people say they will import "their" character, when in fact you cannot import a character, but "only" the changes you made to Thedas through your decisions... Or maye I'm missing something...

I think they are aware of that but its just commonplace to say it. Like how Commanders call their soldiers Men even if there are women amongst the ranks Nothing wrong with it

City Elf is a most grimm story. Therefor I like it best. I played a female warrior and couldn't help but be reminded of Kill Bill ;-)

Also it provides a strong motivator (as do human and dwarven noble) for the rest of the game. Love telling the human king to f*** off and knowing it's perfectly consistent with the character's history. And then of course removing Loghain's head from his shoulders for selling my family as slaves. That he killed the king I had no problem with ;-)

Second in line is dwarven noble. That make the whole Orzammar plot a lot more interesting.

I liked the City Elf, it was a good situation to find a hero from a common place. I also liked the Mage story, because of the stigma that follows the mages, like elves, wherever they go. My ultimate favorite is the Human Noble, because of the tragedy that happens, not just because of a once in four hundred years event like the Blight, but because humans are shadowed and imperfect.

The Human noble is my favorite cuz you start out as like the spoiled rich kid and then everything you ever loved gets torn away from you.

Lol, nobody likes the dalish elf ( as far as I've seen anyway).

My favorite is a tossup between Human and Dwarf Noble, since I like the whole "fall from grace" and "redemption" (though as a Human Noble you can even become socialy higher then you started, so I guess that one wins by a landslide )

My favorite origin in itself is the city elf origin, but I've never been able to play through as anything but a human noble. There's so much room for character development as a noble, and was the first origin I played. I've never perceived the noble as spoiled, just privileged, as I'm sure the Cousland family wasn't arrogant and taught their kids things could be worse, so maybe that's why I don't mind it. Though it seems many people like it because of that.

Its my  favourite origin. After looking through the forums a lot of people share my preference too.

And im excited on how will Marethari and Merill in DA2 will react if you import a dalish warden in DA2.

City Elf female was my fav, although I liked the Dwarf Commoner too and will be importing both. I like starting off as downtrodden characters and then working my way up to a real hero, so Human Noble and Dwarf Noble didn't appeal to me.

Yeah I think that Dalish origin will have more of a mention in DA2 than the mage origin.. But thats just my personal speculation

1 - City Elf

2 - Human Noble

3 - Dwarf Noble

4 - Dwarf Commoner

5 - Mage

6 - Dalish Elf

I found the Mage and Dalish origins less engaging as there was no family involved, and I really did not care much about any of the people I met.

I am hopeful that DA2 will be very gripping, given that the role of Hawke's family is so prevalent and personal.

The Dwarf Commoner was the best executed origin in my opinion, followed by the Human Noble, Dwarf Noble, City Elf, mage and Dalish Elf. My favorite might actually be the Dalish Elf origin because of it's potential, it just wasn't done very well however, the script felt the least inspired to me (because it was basicly Princess Mononoke w/ Darkspawn).

I"ve only got one character profile so far, a female Warrior-class Dalish Elf named Lyna. (See imported portrait to the left <-----). I've always been partial to Elves in Fantasy-based stores like LOTR, Dragon Age or what have you....Though I do plan on exploring all the other class and species combinations at some point

I felt the dwarf noble was definitly the best. You can talk through Gorim and kill people in gladitorial combat through dishonor.. You can have people killed, it feels like you really are a noble where the human noble origin is not quite as much noble.

But the best part, You can become Paragon! and have a kid! Love getting to name him and choose his house

I like the female Denerim starting story because of that desktop wallpaper thing. And because I like returning later to the Allianage and people like me. And because the Dalish go "Hey look. An elf. Do we know her? No. Ah well..."

I really liked playing as a City Elf - I tried it both ways up to the dungeon part and realised the female variant was better - it meant more to me being the actual prisoner than the rescuer - so I started again and made that character my first one to go through the whole game. It was going to be the Human Noble (female again) but I had to start again due to an unwinnable fight I couldn't escape.

I have played all the Origin stories so far except for Dwarf Commoner, but I plan to play a character from each Origin. I have only had the game installed since Ist January,.. I have played 2 characters all the way through so far - City Elf and Mage. The City Elf was more fun and I didn't like my Mage at all originally but his character changed from sarcastic and mean (apart from his friendship with Jowan) to someone who became friends with his companions and was ultimately self-sacrificing. I liked him then. What I liked about those 2 Origins through the game was that both of them had faced prejudice and other characters brought it up in dialogue in relevant places.   It really fitted with the story in both cases. I was gutted that Anora wouldn't marry my Mage because it would upset the lords.

Really looking forward to taking all the Origin stories through the game. Human female Rogue is next even though I feel bad about leaving the Dwarf Commoner Origin untried - may do that anyway but take the Human character through the game first.

I won/t have time to do all the Origin stories from scratch before DA2 arrives due to my commitments having resumed with work and university so I will probably take my City Elf character first time round on DA2. I have used her on all the DLC (except Golems of Amgarrak because I couldn't finish it) and am doing Awakenings with her at present so it would be good to finish her story. :-)
