Is activation still an option for this game? Decided to replay it (using Windows 7). Am running it in compatibility mode, but that doesn't seem to help. When first starting the game, it tries to 'activate' and I end up with what looks like a blank browser window. Any help would be appreciated.

You're running a boxed version? As far as I can recall, Jade Empire doesn't need activation.

Do you mean activation as in 'having to activate it via the internet'. I don't think this is necessary. I think you still have to punch the cd key into the slots for the cd key. If you have bought it via download, you'll need to contact the download place where you've bought it...
You did remember to put the game into a folder like C:/games in windows 7? And to install it as an admin?

You're right, of course - I purchased the game via online retailer (ebgames, perhaps?) Whoever it was used trygames/ActiveMARK which requires manual adjustment of Internet Explorer settings in order to complete activation:

Seems to work for now. You'd think I'd have learned the annoyances associated with DRM by now. And how to use Google. Anyway, thanks for the advice, all.
