So...I have exhausted all of my options here.
My problem: I used to be able to record in Fraps just fine, I have quite a large number of ME videos from my various playthroughs. Recently however, there's a very odd error when I record: The moment I press record, the entire game literally slows down. People's voices become incredibly deep, etc. However, this does not appear to be lag. The framerate still remains in the high 40's, and everyone's motion is smooth....it's just REALLY slow.
Videos are recorded in this incredibly slow state as well. What's also interesting is that when I halt the video record, the game REMAINS in the slow-mo state. It only stops when I press Escape (the noises become un-deeepened), but instantly slows down again when i press escape again to return to the game. The only way I've found to reverse the effect is to load a save.
I've looked up the problem online and I found only one forum post from someone playing Gran Turismo 5. I tried all the options he ran through, even the one that eventually fixed it for him (wiped video driver using software, did a completely clean install of video card driver) and still it does this problem.
For me, this seems to be an error confined to Mass Effect 2...so I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and has fixed it.
And believe me, I've tried nearly everything. I've fiddled with audio capture, with frame rates, with graphics settings...none seem to do anything. Still that crazy slow-mo.
Anyone else have Slo-Mo problems when recording ME2 on Fraps?
