if not can you please detail if you have the cerberus pack or not and your audio and video settings

IIRC, there was some user who was using Optical Out thanks to his surround system instead of Audio/Video though HDMI, and reportedly didn't have any sync issues. Forgot who it was but it was in another thread that dealt with audio sync.

I am using an optical cable for surround sound and still experience audio problems.

My audio is out of sync too. Every other game/blu ray I own works just fine, so its not the TV or PS3. The audio could play a whole second EARLY and it would still sync up better.

Will a update patch fix this? Can we even download a patch to fix an issue like this?

I hope so it is really frustrating. I hate that feeling of watching a custcene and hoping the sound will be in sync the whole way through rather then enjoying what i am watching. It really takes away from the experience when the sound is lagging to. If their is a way to fix it please do so Bioware!

Are you playing the game in HD? Just trying to see if SD makes a difference with this issue. I played it in 720p.

I haven't encountered this problem more than a short handful of times. I own a 32" Sony Trinitron CRT SDTV and my friend is staying with me temporarily with his 22" Auria 720p HDTV. Neither setup has been an issue but for what it's worth I've been using some mid-quality headphones rather than the television speakers.

Not that I honestly believe too much of that makes a difference. It's probably the game itself but it's curious that some of us haven't had an issue.

Sound effects are what usually go out of sync for me. Voices on rare occasions do but mostly it is the sound by 1 or 2 seconds. I am hoping for a patch with this also. Hopefully they will address a bunch of issues when they release the patch to fix the game save corruption.

"Hello,

I purchased Mass Effect 2 yesterday and I'm having a major problem with the in game dialog sound. Basically the game runs perfectly fine with full max settings, the sound effects and music are perfect for the most part, but I was VERY disapointed to find the opening moments of the game ruined by the fact when a character speaks I can bearly hear them talk (somtimes not at all) and when I can hear them.. well.. it sounds like they are talking inside of a tin can.

I played through the first mission of the game to see if it's just a problem with the location but the dialog problem continues to persist into mission 2. This issue completly ruins the experiance for me.. I'd rather not harken back to the 8 bit days of Final Fantasy and read thousands of lines of dialog to get the story.

Does anyone else have this problem?"

Malcontent there was no need to post in this topic when you already made a topic. this topic is for audio being out of sync with the video not audio being really low

Yes that was me. I've logged 20 hours play time and haven't had any sound issues at all. Don't know what to say really, other than I have sound going through the optical out to a Samsung home cinema 5.1.

...I have had 3 freezes in that time though, so I'm not saying the game doesn't have issues.

Maybe I should check on the xmb and post what my sound settings are...it might not help, but at least it's something people could use as a starting point.

A patch is it intended to solve the problem? Or maybe the patch will come out this problem it solves?

Expect a patch for this with a fix for the new game+ glitch most likely. Both require the game to be completed to research and fix the problems.

I'm also having this issue. I'm on my 2nd playthrough and this glitch happens during the exact same parts of the exact same cut scenes. The cut scene on freedom's progress with the YMIR robot and the part where Jack is tearing dudes up just before you introduce yourself to her are some of the cut scenes where this happens.

Patch please. This glitch totally kills the immersion.

I've had an issue with the last parts of Purgatory being out of sync. Also Freedoms Progress was out sync. Only in videos though, it's annoying.

I'm experiencing the same troubles. At least two seconds of audio lag in cut-scenes... Please fix this Bioware.

I've found it's only certain cutscenes that are out of sync.

For example...

[Slight Spoiler Alert]

...the most memorable is on Freedoms Progress when Tali's squad get's taken out by the heavy mech. But then there's a few others too, not a major problem, but a bit of rain on the parade.

Is there any way I/we can contact PSN/Bioware to fix this problem as it seems it's obviously a widely known problem. Would be simple enough with a game update patch.
