Human Noble was in my opinion the....weakest origin out of the 6,the Elf and Dwarf Noble origin were the best but all that aside Dragon age 2 looks like it's either going to be a Great buy or great bust, but it is Bioware so I'm leaning on them to satisfy haha

I played all the origins.  Never finished the game with any character not human--I'd get up around level 12 and get annoyed and want to change my build.

First was Dwarf Commoner. (finished)
2nd Mage (finished)
3rd Human Noble (got halfway through the game and got bored)
4th Dwarf Noble (finished)
5th City Elf (got through the origin story and decided I didn't like her look)
6th Human Noble again (lol) this is my current play

Where are all the oldschool vampire movies?

30 Days of Night and Daybreakers spring to mind.

30 days of night was more vicious bloodthirsty raging and feral vampires that could not even melt into human society if they wanted to while Daybreakers was a spin on the vampire theme where humans are instead the ones hiding from the vampires that control society. Either way it's not the classical vampire that I've come to love, but that's not to say I'm against development or new angles, as long as they don't involve a skinny Pattinson showing a glittering chest of rainbwo sparkles in the sun in front of an awkward teenage girl that always looks dumbfounded.

On that note, do vampires or some "vampire" kind of species exist in the Dragon Age universe? Creatures that cannot enter the light, feed from human blood, go out at night and meld into society?

As someone who really enjoyed both Dwarf origins, I would think the fact that Dwaves are the only race that is restricted in what class they can be might be a big factor in their being the least used. Can your statistics tell how many non-mage characters chose to play a Dwarf?

I played all origins but only finished the game with the two dwarf origins, i never liked much the other origins except maybe for the city elf which was cool as well.

It's kinda weird that so few played as dwarves. My first playthrough was a male dwarf noble and I can't imagine playing the main quest as any other background.

Dudes, i got the game JUST TO PLAY AS A DWARF!!!!!!
(be warned i am a HUGE dwarf enthusiast so when i saw only 5% completed the game as dwarves i fliped the fug out)
YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY ONLY 5 MOTHER FUGGING PERCENT OF PLAYERS PLAYED AS DWARVES? CAUSE THEY WERE SET UP TO FALL!!!
A.) Did the dwarves get a happy ending? NO! We got some bull**** neutral ending and even then you had to side with bhelen, the bad guy... why would you even play through the entire game if you dont even get a happy ending for all your hard work?
B.) We only got 2 classes...WHAT?! In exchange every one out of ten spells dont work? woopdedo,
if we cant do magic then give us a special 3rd class...or the abilty to do magic, either is fine wit me
C.) why were the dwarves douche bags? Isnt humanity the proffesional in this regard? I'm not trying to cast blame, but why? WHY DID THEY HAVE TO **** OVER THE DWARVES?!!

I'll admit, my first playthrough was Human Noble, although I played through all the other origins later.

But actually, I'm not surprised that most people played a human playthrough, statistically. When I was looking through the 'which DA:O playthrough will you import for DA2, I swear every other one was Human Noble.

I'm betting a lot of people who played other races are going to come reply to this thread, but take a look in import threads and you'll see what I mean, I think a lot of people played as humans.

So, not only to you necro, you rage necro.

1. Bhelen isn't the bad guy. You just have no sense of morality.
2. Yep, because, in this lore, dwarves can't be mages.
3. Bodahn, Sandal, Harrowmont, Endrin, and a great number of dwarves were just fine. Of all the major elven characters you meet, only a few of them aren't asses to you if you aren't Dalish.

No one ****ed over the dwarves. You just have a sore spot for your favorite race and feel the need to try to explain away why no one plays as them. The great majority played as humans. Most people don't like dwarves, and they only played once.

Yeah. I thought the Dwarves, specifically Aeuducan Royal Dwarf, had one of the best origin stories in the entire game. Cut throat politics, intrigue, etc. Not to mention their society is definitely one of the best written and most well rounded in DA's universe.

I digress. I usually played Elf, not because they were elves but because I got the distinct impression they were the underdogs. City Elf Origin remains my favorite, because of all the tragedy afoot. Working on my Dalish origin so I can port that into DA2 and hopefully get some Merrill dialogue.

I had no idea what the dwarf ending was and I never considered picking the origin.

Dwarves appealed the least to me. I've finished a human playthrough and am now working my way through elven playthroughs.

Warcraft. D&D. Warhammer. Dragon Age. Dwarf Fortress, hey!

I'm not sure what you're complaining about. People who play as elves probably have more to **** about, considering their lot in the DA world really sucks.

Once again, I think that you're upset that most people don't play as dwarves and think there has to be something wrong with the DA setting to explain it, because of course they're so popular everywhere else.

Are you referring to the Bhelen/Harrowmont issue specifically?  Because IMO the Dwarf Commoner was able to get the happiest ending of all the Origins.  Your family is still alive, you become a Paragon and found your own House, and you basically become part of the royal family (if you choose Bhelen).  You rise up from nothing and if you so choose can return to Orzammar as triumphant as can be.

Anyway, in response to the topic, I played all the Origins.  The only one I don't have a finished game for is the Dwarf Noble, which for some reason I never liked that much.  Loved the Dwarf Commoner, though.

FIrst, like i posted in another comment i apologize for having a stick up my ass, and im not trying to act like a jackass but dragon age does **** them over, only 2 dwarven cities, constant darkspawn threat, and i cant honestly say if dwarves get ****ed in warcraft, warhammer, D&D or dwarf fortress but this was the first time i really saw elves get screwed

I have a Human Noble, City Elf, Dalish Elf, and Dwarven Noble playthrough. I've always favored my Human Noble playthrough the most however.
