Don't Fear The Reaper

I know I do. It's very tongue in cheek but a good song nonetheless.
Would it be possible for EA/BIOWARE to obtain the rights to use this song? Because it's perfect! I mean it's somewhat obscure and Blue Osyter Cult isn't exactly the rage nowadays. If it's too humorous for the regular ending maybe it could play in the joke ending assuming there is one.

Let's see if Bioware has a sense of humor... if a slightly bad one...

I know what I want to put there but it just wont work! It would so cheesy it would really would. It would sort of downplay that dramatic climax ending were all hoping for.
Still the lyrics make for great art pieces!

That's why I suggested using it for a joke ending. Tell me you wouldn't crack up laughing

Bioware usually has a good sense of humor (even if it's slightly disturbing), so no.
Playing Don't Fear the Reaper in Mass Effect 3 would be like playing this in The Day After Tomorrow. >>

But then, how many people here even knew who sang it? I love the song, but I also know Bioware's target audience isn't full of people like me. The fact that BÖC got much exposure at all in the last decade was largely to the credit of Christopher Walken and SNL.
So yeah, it'd make my day, hell, my year. Sadly, as this thread itself offers evidence, not everybody would feel the same.

Hey, the Blue Öyster Cult is bloody awesome. Of course I'd love to hear that in there.

You might be surprised at how many here know, since this insipid request is still made several times a day by people who think they're the first to have such a "clever" idea.

IF, AND ONLY IF, they get Jack Wall or Faunts to do a Mass Effectified cover of it (IMHO, that is)... Just as Bear McCreary BSG'd "All Along the Watchtower"
This is the most awesome idea I've ever read!

In particular, I imagine Shepard on a vacation on some planet with his LI. As the screen slowly zooms out from them, Niftu Cal is shown on-screen and starts talking about how he's a biotic god. Don't Fear the Reaper slowly fades in during his speech and then the screen cuts to black just as the song hits the chorus. The credits roll. Many a hands are clapped.

I second this idea! I love BSG version of that song and it'd be frakin awsome if Bioware did something similar with "Don't Fear the Reaper".
At the very least i could see them using the song in the launch trailer for ME3. Hey, they used that heavy metal song to advertise DA:O so why not?

Edit: . . . Right. I bet that joke's been done.
Meh. "Spectres" was one of BÖC's weaker albums.
