Are you implying that not everyone is straight? Like... with sarcasm?
Butterfly, don't bring it back - this toppic was rolled over and over and over so many times it's not even controversial anymore.

This again? While I'm sure you love to keep asking on the subject you know this thread like all others will fall into the everybody is a gay hater and everyone is a fox hater sense its sooo cool to do so yet those who bash on the network have yet to watch it. It's just like bashing a movie you never saw one person says its crap so you start running around to everyone you know say its crap and you're just wasting your money if you go see that crap yet you never saw from opening to ending credits so you can't really say its crap your entire argument is based off of what someone long ago told you.

As far as leaving the files in you should all ask BW via email instead of guessing, hating, and making slanderous accusations about others character and moral compass sense you personally do not know them.

BW has already stated Mshep is straight its their fact not something I'm making up as far a Fshep sense she is a optional choice they decided to give her a little leeway but she still can't do everything that pushes the envelope regardless of what you all think fox thinks. I wonder if you all will be surprised if ME3 comes out the has ME style sex scenes and fox decides to say nothing then you'll still be sighting the ME2 mistake it's been 2years folks let it go.

A character shouldn't be homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual just for politically-correctness' sake. People who get all annoyed that there aren't any other characters other than straight ones are so for the wrong reason imo. If I would be annoyed about how a guy should be aiming for other guys, it'd be because it falls in line with his character profile and works with the feel of the game.

Newsflash: Most people are straight. Therefore, the people on your squad will most likely be straight as well.

Most, but not all.  Is it THAT hard to imagine ONE gay guy?

Is it that hard to imagine none?  There are only 9 full-blown LIs, including Liara.  So, 8 people for whom "sexual orientation" makes sense.  At 10% incidence, 0/8 is not particularly surprising.

We're looking at this in the wrong lense. It's all about character. If it makes sense for a character to be bi/homosexual then that's the way that character should be. Let's use some Bioware examples to demonstrate my point:

Ashley: It doesn't make sense that she would be openly bi/lesbian due to her expressed political tendencies. She's xenophobic and that fits right in with a mindset that might be against homosexuality. While this is not necessarily the case, I think it's a fair justification for her being straight.

Zevran: Grew up in a brothel, born to a prostitute. Got no clear idea of what constuted as love or sex or whatever, whereas most homes might've had an environment which enforces that men get with women. Makes sense that he is bi.

Jack: This is on point where I think Bioware dropped the ball. Given Jack's attitude towards sex and unconventional childhood, it would make sense that she would be bi.

The human ideal, saviour of the universe should not be gay anyways.

Is that so? What does being homosexual have to do with being "ideal" or "the saviour of the universe"?

Nothing, which is his point. And if you want to be technical about it, the 'ideal' specimen is one that is reproducing by following its natural tendencies, not one that ends in a genetic dead end or needs to work against its natural tendencies to reproduce.

For added gayness just use an editor like I did. Not that hard.

It's pretty funny that people are cool with FemShep's romance options including aliens who only vaguely resemble humans but having Miranda or Jack be bisexual? WHOA SLOW DOWN NOW!

Poor BioWare. On the one side they have Fox pressuring them not to include the non-conservative stuff. On the other side they've got forumites pressuring them to put in more gay romances.

All they seem to have said thus far is: We do not make decisions in response to any kind of pressure.

Whether you believe them is, of course, up to you.

Last I checked Yeoman Kelly Chambers was a non-asari Bi-option. Isn't that enough?

Considering The Lost and Damned has full frontal male nudity, and The Ballad of Gay Tony quite obviously has a lot of gay content, I think it's ridiculous for developers to be afraid of Fox News or any other Conservative pressure.

I really think it's just a matter that FemShep got completely shafted in ME2, period. Only one of her romance options is human. It's pretty understandable that people would want her to have another human romance option, and there are two perfectly acceptable candidates sitting right there in your squad.

Newsflash: Most alien species stay within their own race.

So why exactly is it that Shep can bone almost every alien in his/her crew?

No, they don't think so. I can understand why.

She's not a proper LI and doesn't have a proper romance. Many people also feel that her omnisexuality comes across more like promiscuity, which doesn't exactly portray LGBT in a good light.

Bioware made the game.

Bioware chose how relationships would play out.

Don't like it?

Don't play the game.

I must point out a few relevant facts:

let's look at the non LI's

Mordin says "I f I would try human would try you." regardless of gender though he may have been kidding either way he's most likely asexual.

Grunt, the tank probably put in something to make sure he's straight to ensure he passed on his genes

Legion, he's a robot-that's enough

Sammara, she says "In another life shepard" to either gender so she's bi I suppose

Zaeed, he's never mentioned his sexuality, and I most likely lost much of his libbido at that age anyway

Kasumi, she likes Jacob- that's a sexuality all to it's own

this being said there isn't much room for a gay squadie

What they need to do is think about which one of those groups is going to actually be buying the game.

What about Liara/Samara? well since their race have only "Females" they're technically not females, they're asexual beings that 'look female' to us humans (on purpose). It's actually a Xeno romance with an alien that is neither male nor female

Bioware writers made certain charcters hetero...sorry to say but just deal with it, you may be roleplaying as shepard, but youre still shepard, and the writers made shepard straight

Lets hope for everyone wanting same sex relationships, that the writers make shep bi for ME3, and that bioware can avoid/ignore any outcry/outburst from the non-gaming public/parents

I don't know. Bad press can certainly be a powerful thing. Don't most companies fear it, and for good reason?

Is it bad press, though? Did Hot Coffee hurt GTA sales? Did the "interactive pornography simulator" attack on Mass Effect hurt sales?

Quite the opposite, actually.

The number of people who would decide not to buy ME3 because Fox raises a stink over gay people in it is dwarfed by the number of people who will buy the game because people are talkinga bout it.

People who would get upset over a gay character are not smart enough for the Mass Effect universe and likely are not playing the games regardless.

The gaming community comes together in 'reverse backlash' over attacks on game content. it would spur extra sales.
