On the first playthrough I saved like a paranoid freak (thanks mostly to ME1 conditioning me to save often). Now, since I feel confident that the autosave will be sufficient in most cases I only save near the galaxy map so that the next time I start the game I can go straight to a new mission.

Like another poster in the thread, I prefer to save during a mission before key moments so that I can remember where I am at that stage of the game. Otherwise, the CIC.

I save every 2 minutes, make separate saves before each major mission.

I let the autosave function do all the work.

I usually save in front of the galaxy map in the CIC, or next to Shepard's desk in the captain's quarters. However, when I'm finished with a particular ME2 playthrough, which includes playing LotSB post-suicide mission, I usually save in the Shadow Broker Base, with Shepard standing next to Liara.

The commander wishes to assist and help her girlfriend, after all!

I usually save a lot and in different slots. So the limited amount of save slots in ME2 was a major inconvenience and i had to make use of save editor to deal with it.

So unlimited save slots in ME3 please, thank you.

Myself, I almost always save next to the bed in the captain's cabin (or next to the terminal in the same room). No particular reason other than that I think it makes sense.

I save about the same place. At the foot of the bed looking towards it.  Like im about about to lie down and go to sleep.

Usually if I have time I like to listen to a loop of the Omega music before I disappear.

Note to Bioware:  More music  for the bedroom!  B)

I make a save on the Normandy, before any mission and then one more as soon as it starts.

You can't name your saves, so this way I know. And since also there's a limited number of saves, I create a separate folder for each major plot mission (Horizon, DCS, IFF)

Usually at the galaxy map, unless I need to remember to Retrain Powers - then I save in front of the Upgrade terminal. Or staring at Kelly so I remember to talk to her.

I usually just saved wherever I happen to be standing. Since I like to finish missions before ending the game for the day, that's usually right in front of the galaxy map where it drops you.
Surprised at all the people who went to the captain's cabin to save. I never visited it except to change armor or feed clean out dead fish. I think I visited it less then a dozen times my first playthrough, and my second (where I didn't even bother with fish) I think I only went there 2 or 3 times to swap armors. Why go through an extra load screen, then ANOTHER extra load screen when you want to play again?

When I'm done for the day I save in the CIC or in the research lab (to remind me to review my upgrades).
