adept is the one that takes some serious getting used to on insanity. Vanguard on the other hand is simply difficult if you don't posses a 100% knowledge of the enemy layout and spawn points.
You don't have to know anything about maps, enemies or spawn points - Vanguards only need to know where the Charge button is located.
Adept is very easy on Insanity if you play it safe, i.e. behind cover. Very few enemies charge or flank you in ME2 so you'll be quite safe and can kill at will all day long (assuming you take out Krogan and LOKI's first). Things will get harder (and more exciting) when your Adept neglects cover and empty a shotgun at point blank range - Vanguard style.

Once you learn Singularity is your best friend and start to play aggressively it becomes pretty easy.
Id really say Vanguard is the hardest (albeit one of the funnest) due to the fact if you mess up you die. Granted, if you dont play aggressively and you play as a gimped soldier it'll be different.
But really, its all great and easy. If its hard you just haven't been playing it enough.

That certainly helps, but it isn't needed. I might be in the minority, but I do think that Vanguard has the steepest learning curve of all classes on Insanity. Well, it does if you actually rely on Charge. If you play it as a gimped Adept spamming Area Reave it isn't all that hard at all.
Sinosleep made a series of videos about how to play a Vanguard near the beginning of the game that could help offset the learning curve.

Yep...old school ME1 vanguard style.

While I don't believe any class is weak on Insanity, I do agree that the Adept has a steep learning curve in comparison with the other classes (with Vanguard and Engineer tied for a very close second). Also, I do hope they make some change in ME3. However, I hope that it is to make the learning curve steeper for the other three classes, rather than making Adepts, Vanguards, and Engineers more powerful. I like to be challenged, and I especially like the reward that I get from "mastering" a class on Insanity.McAllyster wrote...
Adept is definitely the weakest at insanity, I hope there will be some change in ME3
