And why would ME3 need a content filter? To appeal to the kiddies?

It's rated M for a reason. There should be no point in a content filter...that's if I'm understanding the right type of filter.

Why the hell would you put a content filter on a game that's rated M anyway?

EDIT: NINJA'D, DAMMIT.

Mass Effect could probably be bumped down to a T anyway.

no.... enough with kiddie games. Personally I think allg ames should be M rated. I still got my hands on M rated games at 14 . And I came out a decent person.

You have to laugh at the prudish censorship boards.

Its perfectly OK to show the millions of different ways you can end a life, and still retain an M rating, but show the one act of creating a life and its an evil, corrupting influence on the innocence of childrens minds.

As I said, you have to laugh, otherwise, you'd be tempted to pickup a chainsaw and go explain their hypocrisy to them in terms they would understand.

Well, this reminds me of that one guy that came onto the boards and asked in all sincerity if there was a mod to remove all of the swear words in ME2 so his 8-year-old son could play it. Didn't care about the violence, only the swearing.

well swearing... at early age does make you more prone to mental instability.

Early age and contact with sexual act.. actually makes you more stable

Haha, that reminds me of the time a Guild member asked us to tone it down in guild chat because he wanted his kids in the same guild as him. We were an Adult Only raiding guild in WoW.

Our reaction? Seriously your eight year old is playing WoW and you're worried about our swearing in chat or on Vent? No he can't join the guild and if you have and issue, I have a g-kick waiting for you.

I vouch for this. Too much violence. Went too far.

There is a scene in the game where someone is shot, with a gun. Its only quick - but if you watch the scene carefully you can clearly see blood where the bullet has supposedly entered the victims chest.  The visual illusion is of a person actually being shot, with a bullet, in the chest. It only lasts a few frames, but I was very surprised, and very shocked to see this.

the reason i bring it up is not becasue of the swearing i think the only curse word in the game was the d-word, i bring it up becasue of the alien dancers. seriously not all, including my wife, want to see that it is an unnessessary addition to the game. not all of us who play video games are pervs

The dancers? I personally do not find them offensive at all, I think they add to the atmosphere in the seedier places. It is the players choice if they want to sit down and watch the dance. I also think you are very quick to call people pervs..

in the first ME the dancers are optional. ME2 they are thrown in your face and unavoidable. all i am saying is can we make them optional again leave it up to the player. this is one atmosphere i not only avoid in real life, but would also like to avoid in my video games. i apologize for the pervs comment to anyone who takes offense i was merely making a stab at the people who stereotype gamers into being pervs.

I've seen this issue come up like a million times on these Boards and I haven't even been on here all that long!
I quote Bogsont1 because I completely agree with him/her...this is a messed up World (well...large parts of it anyway) Violence is OK...Sexuality is not. Ending a Life is Cool while the Act used to create one is Forbidden.

To the OP...I do not mean any disrespect to you or your Wife...but I simply suggest you look away...not having Dancers in the seedy Clubs that are on some of the places ME takes place would be unrealistic. Besides...I simply can't see what's wrong with a fully clothed Female form dancing.

You can't be serious.  The dancers?  The game has imagery of flayed bodies lying in pools of blood and your concern is the dancers?

The game is rated M.  Deal.
