"i bring it up becasue of the alien dancers. seriously not all, including my wife, want to see that it is an unnessessary addition to the game. not all of us who play video games are pervs"

Can someone tell which key activates the lap dance? I personally found it all kind of tame.

But seriously, we've become so jaded to violence that we can watch someone get their brains blown out point-blank executation-style and not bat an eye and maybe even feel, deep down, "well he deserved it!"

But as soon as a woman gyrates her hips we have to run and cover the children's eyes - talk about screwed up priorities.

Again... 18+ end of story.
You don't let kids watch movies that are 18+ when you watch them
You don't let kids watch magazines that are 18+ when you read them
You don't let kids watch GAMES that are 18+ when you play them

Anyone who is 18 years old or more and feels ofended by alien dancers is not obliged to watch the bloody game unless you strap them to a chair in front of the screen.

You have to laugh at the prudish censorship boards.
Its perfectly OK to show the millions of different ways you can end a life, and still retain an M rating, but show the one act of creating a life and its an evil, corrupting influence on the innocence of childrens minds.
As I said, you have to laugh, otherwise, you'd be tempted to pickup a chainsaw and go explain their hypocrisy to them in terms they would understand.

They wouldn't have a problem with that. Wait, you didn't mention if you would be NAKED during that explanation....

Of course I would be naked. Ive watched enough episodes of Dexter to know that no matter how thoroughly I wash my clothes, then can still detect the blood traces.

Ya you are all right the game is an "M" rated game, i know this, but other "M" rated games are at least giving the option to cut out the smut, language, and gore. so why not Mass Effect? Why not all games? i am not trying to censor i could care less if everyone in this room wants to see a naked alien, all i am saying is why is it not optional why is it forced and thrown in our face. no one forces us to all go into a strip club it is a choice. So my point is the "choice" not to remove or censor but merely the option to choose to avoid the enviroment for those of us, mainly me i guess, who don't want to see it.

For example the movie 300 was awesome showing boobs and sex pointless it did not add to the story it just showed how perverse we all are that they feel like it is necessary to show boob for a movie to be good.

I walked away from this and then could no longer contain myself...
You, Sir are the one who is Perverse and it is your type of thinking that will bring the Human Race to complete ruination!
I liked 300...but to say what you've said is simply ridiculous!
Virtually every type of Violence was portayed in that Film GRAPHICALLY and the thing you think is perverse is showing the Female Form!?!
Do not use terms like "how perverse we all are" I do not want to be counted next to you in any way!
Please someone lock down this Thread & I hope I don't end up getting banned because I am totally wrong in replying here...I admit it, but you have just gone TOO FAR!

^ This man speaks great truth.

Violence, murder, is ok and not perverse.... female figure = perverse? Any human being that thinks that is fracked up beyond belief... there... there's just no words to explain how badly that.... ugh...

I did not notice much what would require content filtered in Mass Effects. In sertain way support this, because if something would be problem, it would needed filter option, how ever, Mass Effect doesn't seem to have need for it.

This is some of the dumbest **** I have ever heard. Do you work at Fox News?

YOU CAN AVOID the environment you so hate, just don't look at the dancers. Never are you forced to sit down and watch a dancer do her thing. You are however forced to blow the brains out of a number of people.
Mass Effect allows you to burn people alive, torture someone, kill in a dozen different ways, cause death and destruction, sleep with people and a dozen other things I've forgotten. Your problem however is th dancers? You best be trolllin'

Seriously you're pretty ****ed up in the head.
If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Actually "Mature" means 17+, but other than that yeah, I agree completely with what you're saying.

in the first ME the dancers are optional. ME2 they are thrown in your face and unavoidable. all i am saying is can we make them optional again leave it up to the player. this is one atmosphere i not only avoid in real life, but would also like to avoid in my video games. i apologize for the pervs comment to anyone who takes offense i was merely making a stab at the people who stereotype gamers into being pervs.

Going into Chora's Den was necessary to get to Fist, who was necessary to get to Tali, who had the evidence.  There were dancers in Chora's Den.

I do, however, get annoyed by the camera constantly zooming in on Miranda's ass.  More of a facepalm than a "ZOMG INAPPROPRIATE," though.

But seriously, man, take an art or human anatomy course.  The body gets really plain, really fast.

You are right going into chora's den was necessary to get to fist, but there where no alien dancers. also the gore in video games and in 300 was unecessary the message is sent without the gore. hence the content filter. everyone is missing the point of my comments i am just saying make it optional not saying one is better than the other. and for admiral cheez i have taken anatomy. A science class is is not even relevant to this topic i am saying to make it OPTIONAL. maybe if i put it in capital letters everyone will understand the point i am trying to make. i am not trying to say violence is good and nudity is bad i am trying to say it SHOULD BE OPTIONAL!

I am a woman, I play Mass Effect 2, and I do not flee before petty strippers. I just roll my eyes and go, "lol, fanboy fodder." Four of my friends, also girls, are able to do the same thing.  We only complained about Miranda's ass, which was kind of counter-productive in the character development department.

What IS insulting is "have you ever lived with an angry women?"  implying that angry women are somehow worse than angry men.

U sexist? *trollface*

Then DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR WIFE AROUND. It's kind of rude to play videogames when family members are trying to talk to you, anyway:

"Honey, I was thinking we should go someplace nice tonight."

"Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations."

The OP just asked a question. The hostility here is unwarranted.

No.  He didn't just ask a question.  He said not all gamers are "pervs" which directly means anyone who doesn't have a problem with the dancers in Afterlife are pervs.  He then went on to say that 300, a movie that is pointless and shows nothing but extreme violence, was somehow sullied by a sex scene.  Seriously?  You don't think some consternation is in order?

That's like saying God of War 3 was sullied by the boobs when during the rest of the game you eviscerate, maul, torture and hack to death a fair number of innocent people.  It's also as about as sensible as asking for a "content filter" in that game.

Lmao, Shepard should use that line against the Council in ME3 when the Reapers roll through.

who said she is trying to talk? she looks up from reading her book and sees a stripper in my video game. lets ask you Admiral Cheez say you have a boyfriend who is playing a video game and all of the sudden you look up from something you are doing and you see a stripper on the screen? how do you feel? jealous? angry? irritated? what would you do? well my wife doesn't like it, it makes her angry! that is why i bring up making it OPTIONAL not because of me i pay no attention to the strippers i care to much about the dialogue so am reading the subtitles, but my wife doesn't care she only cares about the strippers in the background. am i coming through clearly now or do i need to use smaller words?
