So I was doing the Firewalker mission and when I finished the portion at the Volcano planet and was getting back in the Hammerhead my colour was all shot and inverted, it actually looked like it was supposed to be a thermal image or something, so I didn't bother with anything, but when I got back to the Normandy, same issue.

anyone else? Posted Image

(not my picture, just someone else apparently with the same problem)

Yep. I had the exact same issue just the other day. Haven't been able to complete that leg of the mission.

Playtesters? Ha! That's us, obviously.

Agreed. And if you pause the colour is fine though right? I managed to save the game with normal colour, but when I quit to main menu, it was definitely still on acid.

I don't recall pausing the game being a fix for the issue. Once my colors went wonky, they stayed wonky until I quit entirely out of ME2 and relaunched.

Weird... pausing was what made me think it was a temporary issue with the Hammerhead, for shame Bioware.

Also, please add registeration for PS3 version, that would be.... well, acceptable at this point.

It may be the disc has finger prints or scratches on it....If the game is new it could be it could've got scratched when it was shipped to the store you got it at..If it is used the person who had scratched it..Sometimes the PS3 can glitch or freeze out of no where. It has happened to me before...If you keep on trying to get to that part and it keeps changes color like that at that point you should return it if you can and if that game has the same problem it might be ur PS3.

Ah my ps3 is a gentle beast, it chugs and chugs and chugs. But I don't believe it's a hardware issue. I honestly think they just needed a lot more testing done for the playstation version.

Me 2...When I play it on xbox360 it is fine but on several games on playstation I get glitches every once in a while.Anyways the Japanese are technology experts it is probably the disc is scratched or finger prints are on it...Or it is what you said the disc is poorly made.

Yes I am having the same color glitch.  All of the colors got distorted and became strange thermal colors at the volcano level. The game looked like a comic book.  There were so many glitches in this area it was pathetic!!!  My space ship was flying through walls and floors.  The environments were so pixelated it looked like a PS2 game.  The quality of this game stinks.  How could the beta testers pass this...very pathetic. My disc is brand new with no scratches and new PS3 slim.  Its the game.

yeah had a serious issue with it. And during the Overlord DLC my character model was all turned around, though the aiming reticle was spot on, shooting through his shoulder at geth is trick shots.

This looks quite a lot like the game is running low on texture memory.

The best thing to do when you see this issue is to save, restart your PS3, and then load the save you created.

How can the game be running low on texture memory? Is there a memory leak?
Also, when this happened to me, I did quit out of the game and reload from the most recent save, only to have it happen again. Does reloading from a save (or autosave) also "import" the conditions that led to the low texture memory, hence the advice to create a new save file whilst these conditions are present and reload from that one?

I don't believe this is low texture memory, its terrible programming. This game is probably using 20 % of the PS3 cell processor. Try restoring the corrupt system files on your PS3. If you don't know how to do this, Sony customer service can help you with this.  I did this and the color glitch is gone so far.

Yeah I played for several hours afterwards yesterday and it didn't happen again, I wonder if the add-on content is what's triggering the leak. Either way... still worth playing.

Like New Vegas that froze four times a day and didn't stop me. :)

I found a fix to the problem ( hasn''t popped up ever since)

Uninstall your ME2 data (not the DLC) open the game again, wait for it to install (yeah I know its long)

Should work then.

Something similar happened to me. The entire screen went a very dark red and I could just make out the shape that was my Shepard. Saving, quitting right out of the game (with the PS button), then restarting the game and reloading got rid of it.

Had the glitch happen to me yesterday as I was exiting the volcano lab, I didn't know what was going on and the skycar blew up, I chose to continue and it took me back inside the hangar with the color glitch still intact. I feared it had permanently messed up my save, but after exiting the game and booting it back up everything returned to normal.

Retail copy, 80GB (w/BC) PS3

I encountered this yesterday but not in the Volcano mission but the one on the abandoned Jarrahe space station mission where the rogue VI killed it's crew (not Overlord, the N7 mission). Started right from the cut-scene at the start of the mission. I've took a picture of it but not got it loaded to my photobucket yet but will do. Anyway I tried both restarting the mission and loading a save I made after the issue to no avail, tried loading a previous save where I was on the Citadel and the issue was still apparent although more like that picture the OP linked, with me now being able to see things but it being some sort of tripto 'thermal' image.

I decided to restart my PS3 and initially it didn't give me the option to resume, checked in 'load game' screen fearing that my save file had been corrupted (even though I had checked before restarting the game to ensure it hadn't) and all the saves were there, exited out of load game screen and the resume option was back, knowing that I'd now got the auto-save back at my previous save I went back into 'load game' and 'restart mission' and this time the screen was fine and I was able to complete the mission. On my second playthrough now, gonna hit Firewalker earlier to see if still don't have issues with it, because I'm beginning to think what Jack has said is true. The reason of course why people are probably hitting it at the same spot is due to all that is going on in the screen, the fact that I was able to go through that mission fine, would indicate that it is more likely something like a 'low texture' issue. That said, dunno why I got it on the Jarrahe Station mission, all that happens in that initial bit is the Kodiak flying to the station and doing a torch scan of the facility (showing how dead as dead can be it is).

My PS3 is an old 60gb Fat one. I've finished that playthrough with that Shepard now, clocking in 48 hours in game and apart from a few annoying instances like the one listed above, I've thankfully not had half the trouble some poor people are having :/

Hey Guys! I know this forum is a old topic, but I ran into a similiaer issue the other day. I was playing Mass Effect 3, not Mass Effect 2, on my PC. Suddenly after a mission where you retrieve Tali, my screen does this https://picasaweb.go...48988346970018. I read that some of you had this problem on the PS3 in Mass Effect 2, but why is my game doing this? Do some of you have any idea what I should suppose to do. I've tried starting as a Windows XP, Vista, Adminstrator, restartet the PC, and so on.

Crazyfruit out.
