I am attempting to host a module online but having issues getting anybody outside of our home network to connect.  They keep getting a "timed out" message.

To answer of some of the questions I've seen asked on other posts:
We have forwarded ports : 5120-5300, 6500, 6667, 27900, 28900
The only firewall is the one on the router
nwnplayer.ini has Gamespy Enabled = 1, Client Port = 5120
IP address is static
Operating System of server is XP Home
Yes, the server can access the internet
Yes, the other two computers on the network can see the server on GameSpy (can log straight in occasionally but usually get time out error) - can connect via DirectConnect though (only get time out error occasionally this way)

Not sure where to look next.  Any suggestions?

Is there any virus scan utility or other security application running other than the firewall?

Are the guests the only one getting timed out or are you as well?

No, no other applications running other than firewall.

We are getting the time out as well, but not ALWAYS.
If we click on server and connect we get the time out 75% of time
If we connect via directconnect we get the time out 25% of time

No clues?? Anyone?? Right now we don't know whether to look further at our network or it's an ISP problem.

Sadly, the Server Admin forum from the legacy boards never made it to this site so you will need to do your research over there.

There are many discussions regarding issues like time-outs, too numerous to list here, but the general sticky may have enough information for you to pin-point your problem. If not, use the Search Utility and keywords like "server time out" for both topics and posts to send your query back to 2002 to grab the biggest chunk.  If you haven't researched there before, you can choose between archived and unarchived posts which will return different reports.

At least it will give you an alternative action until some server admin-types stumble by to help you out personally.

Thanks for the help HipMaestro. Unfortunately I'd already researched the old boards and still can't fix it, that's why I came here for help. I'll just have to fork over the money for an expert to come in and fix it.
