The choices only matter the first time you pick them.
If you pick the "I'd drop you.", she goes professional and you can't even get back to the question again.
If you pick "I'd catch you", you start friendly, then later pick "I'd embrace you", you are now on the flirty path. A later pick of "I'd catch you" still keeps you on the flirty path.

That explains a lot. I told her I'd catch her, but she asked me again later. To me, that came off as either a bug or her trying really hard to get in my pants. The one thing that bothers me is that while so much is left up to the imagination, we have no idea what ME3 will describe the relationship as! If we had dinner with Kelly, maybe we'll have Scale Itch later or maybe our love interest will get upset. These are things that we might worry about in dealing with her character. Someone who might genuinely want to get to know her better might not go down that path out of concern for their import.
For me, though it was a non-issue. If Kelly is being totally honest, I think she's a very nice gal who should use protection and see Mordin for antibiotic and antiviral (possibly also antifungal, antiarchae, antiprion, etc.) regimins. If she likes exploring... physiology, that doesn't make her in my mind any less of a cute, girl-next door character. HOWEVER, I thought she was a spy, or at least could have been. She was singled out by the Illusive Man for the job, she very early (and often) expresses wanting to get to know you with your guard (and more) down, she goes into your quarters on a regular basis, and I doubt she'd be against finding unique locations to stow listening devices and such. She does all this without really knowning much about Shepard, and there is no way to be sure she actually feels something for him. Maybe she really is interested in me, and she thinks she doesn't have to worry because since I'm such a great guy there's no way I'd betray her precious Cerberus, so she can both pursue a relationship with me as well as spy on me with a free conscience. But I don't like Cerberus that much, I like my privacy, and I'd rather keep my Shepard clean of certain types of diseases.
However, that is just how I treated her on my personal playthrough: a cute girl who is potentially a spy. I think she was a great addition, though! And not just her, the rest of the crew on the Normandy! I loved them all, and that is DEFINITELY part of the reason that I went through the Omega-4 early. Plus after playing video games for so long, I knew doing as many sidequests as possible early on is the safest way to play: if you don't know you're racing the clock, you probably aren't. So when the time cam to go through the Omega-4, I was ready. I really, really appreciate the extra work you guys put into these characters. And I also appreciate you telling us more about their creation.
