I understand what you're saying. Turians are completely alien in terms of appearance.

They're not COMPLETELY alien, at least they have two arms, legs, and eyes. But still, they don't have a mouth or lips or nose, like we'd think. Their body is a pretty odd shape comparitively (if you imagine a human with those proportions, he would look ghastly). It's alien enough that I have a hard time understanding why it's attractive.

Eh as a female I think turians look badass in the same sense as a wolf or tiger looks badass but I don’t find them sexually attractive no.

Garrus has other things going for him, decent guy, badass, sense of humor, sexy voice that sort of thing that make him attractive despite him being a dino bird...thing tho if I was shepard and this were real, he would perhaps be a close friend maybe a partner in the emotional sense but I would not attempt to sleep with him. Maybe that’s shallow but...no, not attractive physically and I doubt we would be compatible in that sense. Really I don’t want to even think about that ick.

I don’t know maybe other girls like the ”exotic” factor?

Duh, its so obvious.
Turians are tall, have deep voices, high cheekbones and big muscles. They have a strong sense of duty and honor. They also have a sense of humor. That's all it takes guys.

Point in case: if I was wrong, sexuality wouldn't exist: you'd be equally as attracted to men or women as long as they had a good personality.

*raises hand* This is true for me.

Ok, so this is more what I was looking for.  So the turian features, regardless that they are not really human, are still attractive because they are dedicedly masculine? All right, I can see that.

Okay. Well you hae personality, the "exotic" looks, voice etc. People have their reasons, I guess. I don't know how to answer this. Most of what I could say, has already been said.

Oh well in that case I really can't argue with your logic, lol

Excluding recognizable comparative human traits such as their personality and to a certain extent, their voice. I would best attribute it to them being perceived an impossibility. You desire something more when there exists the possibility you cannot have it or it is thought not feasible. Garrus' romance is built entirely upon this philosophy. Granted, as is Tali's however that is liable to be one of the reasons she is favored. Additionally, their lack of relation to a human male is a plausible attraction.

Beyond that it could stem to merely a roleplaying attraction. Shepard exists in a world where aliens are considered commonplace. What is perplexing or disgusting to us would not necessarily be for her. Of course, the most probable hypothesis is summarized in Chez's post. She fancies virtually every human quality Garrus possesses, as in these are characteristics not exclusive to Turians. Being this is a game, his appearance is ignored. Although, that may not be the case for Chez. I am simply generalizing.

I can go on... tight butts, bilateral symmetry in their faces, commanding presence, then there's the whole Turian taboo thing because of the First Contact War.

All right, so almost like the "forbidden" quality of the relationship makes it more attractive? Or the fact that it's something new and different makes it attractive (and thus why Jacob is almost completely neglected by female players, because he's "too normal").

If I had to guess at the basics, I'd say the bilateral symmetry and the shoulder to waist ratio--chicks dig a man with broad shoulders in proportion to his waist.  Scientific fact.  Also, height and straight posture.

Ah,true. They do have a nice, trangular waist-to-shoulder form you'd expect of a fit human.

I'm a woman who doesn't think Garrus is attractive. I love the guy. He's a lot of fun to hang out with, but I just don't find him hot. I tried his romance just to see what happens. I loved his awkwardness. He had no idea what to do or say to FemShep and it was adorable.

Well, I tried the Jacob thing once and I just didn't get very far because he's like the nice dorky guy with the hot bod who sits next to you in Science class and you go out of your mind and flirt with him one day and then later when you're kissing in the supplies closet you realize it feels like your kissing your brother.

Thane's real sexy but then he goes into that flashback thing and his eyes.... HIS EYES.... ugggh (why Bioware why?). Real freaky and unactractive because when a human acts like that psychosis or hallucenogenic drugs are involved. When I see that I want to flee.

Kaiden,  er yah he's ok or whatever, but he's greasy like a pig wrestler and his voice sounds like he chugs vinegar and gargles gravel. Then.... its.... like....he...talks.... so.............slow. CREEPY. He hits on you and says suggestive things and it's a little creepier. And I don't se him having a sense of humor at all at all at all.

I've also heard that the other male LIs besides Garrus (Jacob especially) were "too nice."  I know a lot of women find it attractive when a guy is willing to "go after" them, and Femshep is written in as more of the "aggressive" one in the other relationships.  Garrus has the nice and funny guy image while also being a powerful badass that doesn't take any sh*t.

Jacob's problem was never that he was too nice. It's that he was kind of boring. Nothing funny or interesting to say, just your run of mill soldier here. It was the way FemShep was coming on to him that creeped me out.

Haha, I know. They had that written and voiced like femshep just saw Jacob as a nice piece of ass.

This is one time I wish I could alter reality and put a woman like you to the test. It's easy to talk the talk but I'd love to see if you Garrus lovers could really walk the walk if he was really here. Call me cynical but I bet even half of y'all wouldn't do more than give him a kiss on the cheek let alone be in real relationship with him.

Then again there are some weird fetishes out there...

Lady Shep was definitely the creeper in that romance.

And then Jacob's all like:

"She-e-pard, let's not get ha-sty."
