Just had a brand new Insanity Adept run.

I had a lot of problems with my first Insanity Adept, especially pre-Horizon due to the lack of Biotic Cooldown upgrade.  This time round, I made a beeline for Wide Singularity right off and things were much more livable compared with my first run.

Having access to Stasis from LOTSB also helps, but I only had 1 point in it and pull it out only for difficult mini-bosses (I went go through some standard missions without tapping Stasis once).

As per title, my queries are:
1) Singularity premature termination:  With Wide Singularity, I begin to notice that if I snare too many targets (active OR dead) in it, it would sorta "overload" and terminate on its own.

I find that this tends to occur in combat in enclosed areas where enemies tend to bunch up or a chokepoint where lots of dead bodies pile up; it hardly occurs in wide open areas where you are lucky to snare more than 1 target.  So if this is accurate, Heavy Singularity would be superior in such circumstances since it can supposed hold more bodies without dissipating.

The real concern is that whether dead enemy bodies snared in a Singularity contribute to overloading it.  If it does, then having a means to dispose of enemy bodies (Incendiary / Cryo ammo or powers) would be useful to reduce overloading a Singularity that you were counting on to set up Warp Explosion chain.

2) Singularity-Warp Explosion on Barriered targets:
This is the first time I started to notice that a Barriered enemy held by Singularity can be Warp-Exploded - I only started paying attention during Samara's / Thane's Recruitment as Eclipse Mercs have a mix of Barriered / Shielded mooks.  It doesn't seem to work on shields or armour (I went through Tali's Loyalty filled with Shielded Geth and it never triggered, and if it worked on Armoured targets, I would have seen it on Garrus' / Mordin's Recruitment)

Finally, I just want to say that when played right, it is amazing how powerful an Adept can be even on Insanity.  I still recall the awe I felt when I unexpectedly ended Samara's Recruitment boss fight in 20 seconds (just kept chucking Singularities while Miri and Thane exploded everything in sight) ...

1) Yeah use heavy it holds more targets. Also I don't think the number is tied to them being living, dead, or currently in the field. It is more like once it has snared past tense included 6 targets it collapses.

2) I have not noticed warp explosions in that situation, but I am oblivious.

I don't think this has anything to do with Singularity.  The Warp explosion visual effects often trigger when you use Warp on an enemy with barrier.  It doesn't apply the extra damage or area of effect, though.

1) I don't think death enemies count. The number of enemies trapped, their rank and defenses influence Singularity's duration. I'm not sure how exactly though. This is why Wide Singularity is kinda counter productive, catching more enemies makes it collapse sooner and the extra radius is likely to do just that - Singularity has to last long enough to remove defenses to either Warp or Throw enemies.

2) Only ragdolled enemies can be warp detonated. Enemies affected by Pull, Singularity or Slam (lift duration only) and down to health, are considered ragdolled and can be detonated. Lazuli already mentioned the similarity of the effect, but enemy barriers cannot be detonated.

I agree.  I tried the other classes and found them to be a lot of fun, but none were as much fun as an adept in Insanity.  Perhaps the most critical power I depend on is the singularity/warp/throw combo, especially when a squad mate offers unstable warp like Miranda and Thane do... it is simply devasting dumping the singularities on the choke point areas and then having enemies either get stuck or slowed down only to get blasted into oblivion with warp.
Better yet, knocking their shields down then locking them in a suigularity and hitting them with a throw.  It is just too satisfying and downright hillarious to see the enemies being tossed out of map without even firing a single shot.
