Hey everyone, ive played through DAO once as backstab rog, now i wanna switch it up and do a type of archer, im wondering which one of these is more favorable? Is one better at doing area of effect damage?  Also from reading on here ive read that there ive read that i have to build differently bc i play on ps3 and there isnt certain stat fixes? Is that still current or have those been fixed, thanks for any help!

I find the Rogue more versatile. With Stealth, Deft Hands, and Rogue talents, I find I am able to do far more than fire arrows.

Ditto. Archers are not the most active characters, so 'tis nice to have other things to do. Plus stealthed attacks are critical hits, and arrow of slaying while stealthed is a great way to take out mages. Then the question becomes whether to play a dex or cunning archer. Dex is simpler but I enjoy the synergy of a cunning bard archer who boosts the group with powerful songs while maintaining a decent hit rate with boosts from party members - rally, heroic offense, rock mastery, etc. Duelist is a great archer spec, too - the more attack boosts, the better.

I prefer the rogue. Weither you choose dexterity or cunning as the focus has to do with damage output vs hit rate/not getting hit. I've nevber tried the cunning archer with lethality but I may just to see how it compares.

I'd avoid the warrior archer altogether. There is really nothing a warrior can do in terms of ranged combat that a rogue can't do while offering other benefits that the warrior cannot.

I have heard that a Spirit Warrior can be a great Archer, but that is for DAA. And while there are a few challenges of note, it comes much later thn the 50+ hrs spent in DAO.

You know, I always just assumed that Duelist was for melee only.  Because, you know, Duelist...  Learn something new every day!

Crossed arrows at dawn!  The sustained can be used without fuss; Upset Balance, too, AFAIK but I never use it.  Pinpoint Strike requires a melee weapon but you can switch to a bow once its active.

Never heard of 30-40 paces? Makes swords a bit impracticle for some," Leave it to Porthos to come up with a method to disarm himself!"
