As long as the cutscenes are skippable and there are no quiktime events, I won't complain.Maria Caliban wrote...

I doubt conversations are included? they are all done in the engine and would not be classified as cinematics?
Cutscenes are in-engine as well. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to show Hawke.
A cutscene is a non-interactive segment.

Hideo Kojima
Metal Gear Solid 4
$60 movie, lovely interactive menus controlling snake, but otherwise best movie ever, Biowares got awhile to go before they're at Hideo Kojima cut scene standards

I think the cutscenes should only be skippable the 2:d time you play the game. Why? because there are people who always skipp them and later complain about not understanding the story.bobobo878 wrote...

I'd rather play a game thanks. If I want to watch a movie I'll rent one or go to the theater. Seems like alot of people want the game to play for them while they occasionally push a button to make something awesome happen.

Is this also an argument for Heavy Rain? [I sang the title like they do at IGN. It isn't that hard to reference^_^.]

While I'm sure people do like those kinds of games, well if one could call HR anything more than a bunch of quicktime events with a story. I guess. I find it to be apples and oranges in this dicussion though. Two completely different types of titles.
Nothing against Heavy Rain, I'm sure its great for those that like that sort of thing. I hated the demo so I didn't play the full version just not my cup of tea.

Just hope they didn't count 5 minutes of Cut-scene for 6 possible combination of outcomes as 30 minutes. Or else each run through might be significantly less than 104 minutes.

I'll admit to being a bit puzzled at how the game is (apparently) significantly shorter than DAO, and yet has 60% more cutscene time.Lukas Kristjanson wrote...
So no, you won’t see all of that on one playthrough. Wouldn’t be possible. Pretty much just like Origins, because I doubt you remember seeing as much as the 60 minutes or so that it apparently had.

First, you shouldn't try to protect the gamers from themselves. If they want to skip the cutscenes, let them.Johnny Shepard wrote...

Second, if the cutscenes contain story-relevant content (as would be required to justify your initial position), then they should be pausable. Otherwise any player could miss that content through no fault of his own should something in the real world call his attention away.
Gamers are older than they used to be. A lot of us have children, or spouses, or homes we own where stuff goes wrong and needs to be addressed immediately. So either we need an auto-save immediately prior to every single cutscene, or we need those cutscenes to be pausable.

Was it ME2 that autosaved before conversations? That worked terribly. Don't autosave before conversations.
Autosave before conversation is much better then after imo. If you choose a wrong dialogue option and then get autosave you can only hope your last regular save wasn't too far back. I don't see a problem with autosave before conversations or at least before you run into cutscene triggers.

For me here in the Wet Season comes the "pounding Rain" on to my House as well. It Rains here that hard and long, that I would not be able to hear anything from a convo/cutscene. <_<

Some conversations can look like cutscenes because they are staged with extra cameras and differnet camera angles and such and it is very relevant in this topic because if the 103 minutes includes the staged convos it makes the impact of 103 minutes much less.
