Well maybe its because of your country's stupid laws dealing with violent and bloody games.

I don't think so, i assume Dead Space 2 will have five times the amount of violence and gore than Dragon Age 2, and its not being held up. That doesn't affect release dates anyway. I agree that our country has a stupid classification system.

My comment was not intended to be an attack on the country but its political dealings with video games. Since Dead Space 2 hasn't been held up, then maybe its just like everyone says its an error plus gamefaqs.com is not exactly a reliable source of info.

I hope so, thats why i want a dev comment.

Maybe EA should fork over the extra cash for air transport instead of via dinghy?

Cute. You say that now, of course.

Anyway as far as Aussie releases are concerned the majority happen on a Thursday, game retailers are saying the 10th, but if other sources are saying it's now the 24th then there may be something there.

ME 2 (PS 3) was delayed because of the Queensland floods apparently, though the release of DA 2 is so far away it is rather hard to see EA 's oz offices as the problem.

Perhaps Marketing can shine some light on this?

Both the EB Games web site and JB Hi Fi have it listed for March 10th. I can't call and check the release date at the EB Games where I pre-ordered because it is three in the morning here. (Yes, I am nocturnal. Night shift.)

Hopefully Game FAQs is just wrong.

Gamespot Australia says 24th, so gameFAQs is not the only one.

And also adjusts prices according to region. Certain games cost much more through Steam if you have an Australian account.

Yeah, it's really annoying. For some bizarre reason War for Cybertron isn't available on PC here even though it's out on PS3 and X-Box, and so I can't buy it on Steam either. (Not that it's meant to be the greatest game in the world, but I'm a huge Transformers fan.)

They are the same company, so really its one source.

On a side note, JB HI FI also say Dragon Age Origins: 2........yeah, they know what they're talking about (sarcasm).

Incidentally Stardock's Impulse has the same region blocking thing going on, Drakensang is not available to aussies.

But if anyone here is truly concerned about the release date, perhaps PM'ing Chris Priestly about this might get us further, that is if he doesn't come in and say something here first.

We on the same page here? I could've sworn it was Steam just a few posts ago.

Anyway I don't know much about GoD(heh) from the Marketplace but Microsoft isn't publishing DA 2.

I'm confused.

I'll just go to sleep and read the rest of this thread later in the morning. 3am.

oh...no it was a knee jerk reaction to finding out that Steam and other DD providers havr region blocks. Microsoft allows for Digital Downloads for non-new games from any publisher on GoD....I'm just saying I wish GoD had new games and disabled regional blocks

Actually, only one person is responsible for our terrible rating system, some Member of Parliament
(bassicaly a senator, except Australian) in South Australia State is a
real activist against videogames, and he's apart of the rating board, and
he holds up as many violent games as he can. And Australia can't do
anything about it. Most people (everyone) do not like what he does.

So doesn't this answer your question? Stupid Rating boards Posted Image

That's not a figure of speech. That's hyperbole... hopefully.

It is a legitimate complaint, though. But not one that Bioware can do anything about. These things are typically related to ratings and distribution problems. I'm certain that Bioware would rather everyone had the game as soon as possible.

Unfair, the guy quoted me out of context, if you read my full post, i don't sound so much like someone with anger management problems.

Also, created the topic 10 seconds after i found out, and i was like "wtf!".

Not any more , i've calmed down. Still not happy till i find out its not true, though.

EA Australia says it will ship 10/03. So unless you want to believe that they are talking about october 3 the game will be out on march 10.

Checking with the publisher can help when there is confusion regarding a release date.

Gamespot/GameFAQ's gets so damn many things wrong it isn't funny. It's better not to rely on them for ANY reliable information at all. EB Games says March 10th. EA says March 10th. Personally I'd believe the publisher over Gamespot/Gamefaqs, aka the most unreliable game news site on the planet.

Yeah lets make it 32 days, hell it's only 32 days, how about a year?

What is your personal line in the sand that a person should be upset?  Your comment was very foolish if you ask me.  16 days is a LOT of time when looking at the dates they have for North America and Europe.  I would be surprised if that information on that site is correct.
