Bioware has taken offense and is trying to eliminate the kangaroos that are holding the game shipping factory for a defense tower.
Im sorry there is a delay but no one can control war like this.

*packing her house with sandbags and 'roo repellent* Just thank God it's not like the drop-bear plague of '83.

Checking with most game retailers will give you this information. EB Games , JB, EA Australia plus confirmation from Chris a few posts above that the release date has not changed.
The whole thread is discussing this, you can't have not read it...

Oh right. Sorry. I usually don't go to retailers websites to get release dates. Isn't that odd? Stupidly, I was actually wondering where you guys got this information. (I'm the kind of person that finds out the release date through forums and official game sites, then rocks up to a retailer on the day to get a boxed copy - I only have about 10 Steam games and maybe 5 expansions through EA store.)
Edit: PS. I think I'm used to release dates changing, so that's why I don't rely on retailers. They seem to be the last to know, or at least there is discrepancy etc when things change. Even more stupidly, when Chris said "it hasn't changed" I was like, "OK, but what is it?" Maybe I need more sleep.

Seriously with the strength of the aussie dollar, you should just preorder overseas. You get pre-order bonus. Plus, no none of that games mark up that we always see at EBgames compared to the rest of the world.
True that...but when will you receive it? How far after the release date? Perhaps a week for shipping/postal delivery?
Personally, I would rather pay the little extra for the privilege of receiving it on the day it's released. But yeah, if you're on a budget and have the patience of a saint, then that would be the way to go. Games are too expensive in Australia....especially recently when the Aussie dollar was so close to parity with the US dollar

I want to get it on the day of release whatever the price. I am too impatient to wait for overseas shipping.

It might have been some retailer confusion between DA2 and ME2 on teh PS3 (which does release in Australia in Jan 24), but there is no change to the release date for DA2, it is still on schedule.
So cheer up and stay dry if you can Aussies. Thinking good thoughts for those of you, like my aunt and cousins in Brisbane, who were hurt by the flooding.
Great news, thanks for clearing that up.
P.S. Dead Space 2 is Incredible!

Region locks still work for games here unfortunately. So...
