For my latest project I have been thinking about creating a module that would run in a more classic D&D/Bards Tale style fashion where at the start of the game the player creates 6 characters and controls all six for the duration of the adventure (leveling them up anyway they want).

I haven't found any good resources on the topic, has anyone acomplished this before?  If so, any links or direction would be greatly appriciated.

Yes. This is done in Storm of Zehir. There's a few things you need to do, it's not complicated. Someone else will chime in.

Yup, as mentioned, this is a standard/built-in option if you have the SoZ game expansion.

There is also a resource on the Vault, Kaldor Silverwand's Deck of Trumps that is an item, which brings up the party editor menu (This is the new function that allows Party Creation in NWN2). But you will need the Storm of Zehir expansion, as mentioned.

In addtion, this is a campaign level function, so your project will have to be a Campaign, even if it is just a single module. But that should not be an issue. Plenty of guides on how to convert a standard module into a campaign.

In the modules I have made, I have used the specific party creation script, and fire this from a conversation thus accessing the Party Editor Menu.

I hope this helps! Your project sounds like something I would heartily endorse. Good luck.

Harumph!

You can also modify the player menu to include a party editor option. This is what I do in King's Festival. I also uploaded some modified player menus to the vault. There are a modified SoZ menu and a modified MoW menu. The menu for MoW (not the campaign.cam file) would also be suitable for campaigns that require options similar to the OC and MotB.
